Upgrading accurary of my rifle
Today i went outside to shoot some BBS with my sniper rifle, and i found it less accurate that I thought.
Im using a TM VSR-10 with some upgrade. +/- 480 FPS depending on how much hop-up I put on. Here is all the upgrade on it: Laylax PSS10 tightbore 6.03 inner barrel. PSS10 Stainless Teflon Cylinder for VSR-10. Laylax PSS10 Ball Bearing Spring Guide Laylax PSS10 High Pressure Piston NEO Nineball Air Seal Chamber Laylax PSS10 150 Spring I think i need a new hop-up cushion because when i bought the rifle, the one alreadu installed was really crushed and all worn. But i don't know where to find one? So I'm looking for something for accurate and more consistent each shot. I was using .30g bbs bastard today, and every shot were going in different ways.

I know i should use at least .36g bb, but i only had .30g. I wont use expensive .36g bbs just to shoot for fun... You look like someone who know how it works, so just tell me how to upgrade my rifle as it was my question instead of saying that im not using the right word.... I'm looking for tips ans tricks to make my rifle more accuate, not the right words of the pieces I already instaled...

Lol. U can't aim for accuracy with .4 than test on .3 and compare. Buy a bag of .4. There's no such thing as playing with higher weight and practicing with low. And expecting the same accuracy....

Best upgrade you might consider (worked for me after years of shooting ~500fps) is to actually DOWNGRADE the velocity to 400fps or so and upgrade the BB weight. Hey, I did in 2008 and never looked back, got the accuracy or consistancy way better (using 0.36g Bastards) afterwards, compared to when I was shooting 100fps higher, had lots of flyers and lack of consistancy too, no matter what parts I put in or ammo I used. Downgrading improved everything. Besides, actually lets you shoot closer than a higher velocity, makes you more able to do trick shots like slip a round between the 2" gap in the boards on a bunker from 100ft-150ft away, aim for a guy's mag pouches when 100ft away........ years of experience has shown me the higher in velocity you go, the more erratic and disappointing your accuracy/consistancy will become. From an aerodynamics point of view, it makes sense too, air being a fluid and irregular, the more backspin you put on a BB (aka, such as when using a heavier BB), the faster it spins backwards, the higher chance it'll react badly to various densities of air molecules it happens to run into on the way to your attempted target.
Literally, your high fps is mostly what's causing your inconsistancies, try dropping the spring to a lower one and not changing anything else (including ammo), do a taste test and see what you think..... best range I ever got was trying my CA M24 with a cut down spring, ~340fps w/0.20g BBs, and using 0.30g I'd get easy 300ft+ shots, mind you they'd get there but my grouping would be a 10ft circle, but still, was beyond the 200ft if lucky I'd get when I was shooting 585fps at one large game and using 0.36g. Get rid of the Nineball packing and get a Firefly Hard.... Then get rid of the Laylax and get PDI

OK fine, ill buy and try some heavier bbs...
Downgrading the rifle will make it more accurate and consistent, but will it affect too much the range with heavier bbs... I know that .30g are too light for sniping, but if I use .36g with +/- 400 fps, will range drop a lot? I'm looking for a consistent and accurate rifle at 250 feet or higher if possible. And, do anyone know where I can find the little hop-up cushion that will fit, because normal AEG and too long...

Don't think that Laylax spring or spring guide instead of PDI change something... Maybe the piston, but not sure about that. But ill try the FIrefly bucking.

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

the PDI pistons have VC heads to eliminate bolt push, and the cylinders are higher quality. But the hop rubber will make a HUGE difference, it's probably the single most critical part of getting good consistency.
Brand makes ALL the difference. You wouldn't put element parts in your sniper rifle if you had the chance lol |

Once you know how your rifle fires, "Kentucky windage" can be usefull in really long range shots as CDN_Stalker mentioned. Gets them a little bit jumpy as they can't tell where it is coming from. And you never know it may just hit them!

I would also check your cylinder / barrel volume ratio, if you haven't already. Having too much air pushing down a relatively short barrel can also affect accuracy.

I don't think the Firefly or the Nine Ball are the best VSR buckings. There's one by Modify (it's tan in color) that's less than half the price of those two, more resistant, better finished, and has given me great results in consistency, air seal, range and accuracy.
