High Speed Motors

BANANA

Hi all,

I just picked up 2 Lonex high cycle SP100 V3 gearboxes and now need to put some high reving motors on them cause they don't come with any.

Anybody have any suggestions on motors? I'm thinking of sticking with name brand like the G&P M120 cause I've heard a lot of the lesser Chinese brands have overheating issues. I've heard a JG motor will never die on you, but again not sure if it will over heat or not.

I want these AEGs to run as long as possible, so my only real concern is over heating, but excessive gear abuse from super fast cycling is a concern too.

Any input would be appreciated and thanks in advance

Lonex motors run quite cool in my experience. Due to your temperature requirements, SHS, X High Tech motors are totally out. Surprisingly, EG1000s aren't too bad but they wear out quickly on lipos.

I have not had any good experiences with the G&P "highspeed" M120. They're basically ferrite motors with a jacked up price. If your pinion/bevel gear alignment and shimming is good, you should not have any premature wear from fast cycling.

In my Lonex drop-in review, I was running a SP120 box with an A1 motor and yielding an ROF of over 27rps. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=141756
It scares me to think of the results from a Lonex high-speed motor. There's a video in there as well.

If your pockets are deep and want the best, get a TerminusX motor. Any of them will be faster than most of the motors out there.

Most motors don't like 11.1v, but the eagle force EF1300 takes a LOT of abuse.

Awesome, thanks for the input guys and thank you very much Stealth for your review and input. I'll take your advice and stay the heck away from the G&P motors and see if maybe I can overlook the over heating issue cause I don't want to have to shell out the money for a Systema motor and sadly the A1 motors seem to be sold out everywhere

SHS motors are out, but I'd keep X-high-tech in. The one I had actually ran quite cool, even with a 11.1V and an AB mosfet (which creates a lot of heat).

Like Stealth said, Lonex motors are always great. Beware though, even their high speed isn't very speedy.

I second the Lonex motors. They run super cool and are efficient. The G&P M120 is horrible. Too much heat generation and sucks your battery dry (because of wasted energy going into the heating).

The Lonex motors are quieter too. I was able to get 35 rounds per second at 360 fps on 0.2 with my Lonex high speed.
