airsoft surgeon sear spring - problem

Hey all,

I was wondering if anybody could lend me a hand when it comes to "tuning/adjusting" your sear spring (in this case the airsoft surgeon sear spring) so that it does not go full auto. Its quite "unsafe".

I there are some videos or pictures that can help me "bend" it back into place so that the gun can work normally.

[I'm trying to install this on my tm4.3]

Thank you.

My Hi-Capa had a tendency to go full auto too. It was kind of fun!

There are probably a few reasons why that might happen, but, in my instance, I needed to tweak the leaf of the sear spring which impinges on the disconnecter, allowing it to put more upward leverage on the disconnecter. Make sure your disconnecter is functioning smoothly, then bend the right hand leaf of the spring (forward, toward the muzzle end of the pistol) so it puts more force on the angled surface of the disconnecter. It shouldn't need too much adjustment.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, let us know.

Hey Basic! Thanks for the tip, I finally got around to do some tech work, and it now works!!

I know this is solved. But I just wanted to ad some information too. Im guessing we are talking about the super light sear spring correct? Well the easiest way to install it without your hi capa going full auto is to bend the spring forward ever so slightly as was stated above. I found that your disconnector will also need a good amount of lube too. Not too much but enough that it can slide up and down with very little resistance. This happened to me when I installed one of those leaf springs. The friction on the disconnector was enough to cause full auto spats.

Thank Jordan,

I installed this for the Tm 4.3 and with some bending it worked... However I took that same leaf spring to try on my tm 5.1 and I can't even rack the slide. The hammer does not stay?
So not sure what's up with that. lol
