Magpul 'Importing'
Looking for some help on magpul stuff.
Ive read alot that the magpul wesbite will not export their branded parts to canada. Other posts ive read say that if you ask them to they will. Regardless, I ordered some 'magpul' rail covers from another website that sells magpul. Is it magpul themselves that doesn't export? OR Is it the customs that will stop it? Also, will they even consider stopping it because it is just rail covers? lol heres to hoping my package arrives! if any1 can help ease my worries that be great! |

You ordered rail covers?! That's a special offense where the FBI will actually leave the US, and come kick in your door here in Canada. They'd normally send in DEVGRU, but ever since the whole Bin Laden thing, the whole spec-ops community feels they're above retrieving rail covers.
In seriousness, I can see why you might be concerned about the legality of importing something if the manufacturer themselves won't export it, while some hole-in-the-wall company without a team of lawyers would be willing to send it, but rail covers are fine. =) |

Some Magpul items are availble for you to buy direct. Others the best way would be to buy it from a authorized Magpul retailer north of the border or what you did. I know Magpul uses a enzyme in their plastic that reduces the heat signiture of their product thats one of the reasons its itar.
cheers

In a lot of cases like this, the manufacturer will have a distributor deal with someone local.
The reason they may not ship north of the border is for the very simple reason they have to honour their contract with their distributor. It may just be something harmless like that and have nothing to do with anything regarding importation. (At least that's how it works in a lot of car parts!) |
