WE P226 locking the slide back randomly.

Have a WE P226 that I am taking a look at for a friend. Seems to be engaging the slide catch locking the slide back mid mag at random intervals. Locks around 4/5 times per mag.

Slide catch doesn't seem to be touching the BB's in the mag.

Have tested with both the old and new 226 mags.



Anyone else had this problem?

off the top of my head... how stiffly are you holding it? If I limpwrist some of my pistols they will lock back while still loaded, lets the gun shake around and the catch can bounce up into the slide's catch

Funnily enough as I was submitting this thread I was thinking the same thing. Going to test this now.

On a majority of pistols there is a spring which keeps the slide catch from freely bouncing up due to the recoil of the gun. that spring may be missing, happens on WE
