new owner of a VFC HK 416

happy new year to all. its been sometime since i have been online here, but i am back and stoked to get some play time in.

Today on a whim I decided to pick up a VFC hk 416 and so far I have to say I'm loving it. My wife thinks its a waste of money but she's been pretty cool about it :roll eyes:.

just had a question about the trademarks. I was watching some youtube clips and noticed some of the americans complaining about the warning script on the right side where the mag release button is. However on mine I do not have this issue. as can be seen from the pic below. is that due to the fact that we get different versions than our US neighbours? I know stupid noob question but I am curious.

Yes Canada will often see different trademarks and details vs. USA bound guns.

Now there's also a secondary market of guns imported from the USA so then you'll see more of the "don't swallow this gun" warning tags and orange tips. Stuff direct from Asia to here though is normally the nicer grade.

in terms of the the rail, is it common for there to be a slight bit of movement or is it suppose to have zero movement?

on mine there is an ever so slight bit of movement

Should be no movement at all. It's a free float rail, maybe it wasn't tightened down which is giving you that play?

I'm not sure how it's installed or taken off but yeah... try to reseat it maybe?

Zero movement between the rail and the upper receiver.

hmm interesting. thanks for the feedback guys. i don't know if i am being anal and the movement that I'm feeling would not be even considered movement to someone else.

the movement is not noticeable if you shake the gun. its more when you hold the pistol grip and twist your hand holding the front rail. which does not seem like something anyone would do

Glad to hear.

I'm guessing the guy assembling it at the factory was tired after a long day of putting guns together and may not have tightened it properly all the way.
