KJW 1911 MEU Gas Efficiency

I have a KJW 1911 (KPO7 MEU) that I want to make abit more gas efficient. I'm a total Noob when it comes to GBBP's so any help on which parts to replace to give me afew more shots out of my mags would be great.

Cheers

Having owned several KJW 1911s and having many 1911 mags of all sorts of makes and brands, I can say that if you were looking for a gas efficient GBB then the 1911 isnt the way to go.

The mags simply are too small to be highly gas efficient, and often run out of gas before running out of BBs. But considering that the mags hold about 26bbs thats not too bad.

I cant comment on how to make your gun more gas efficient, but I can say that there have been several days where I went to UA with only a KJW 1911. And I have found that gas efficiency is highly dependent on your playing style. Using a pistol as a primary for CQB, I found my mags will get around 15-20 shots if they are allowed to warm up for 10 minutes after charging.

But if I were to pick and choose my shots (maybe 1 shot every 10 seconds) I can quite often get a full mag and have my 1911 lock back on the last shot.

Im not sure how helpful any of this is of if it makes sense, its been a long day with little caffeine.

it makes sense to me. I have been short loading my mags to around 10 to 12 shots. Unless there is a way to make a CO2 1911 shoot under 350FPS?

I don't have a 1911 but it should still apply,

I bought a bunch of these when they were available:

Really helped freshen up the old mags. Shots feel alot more crisp and I even gained a bit of FPS.

Having said that, keeping the mags warm and your firing style (like Jordan said) seems to help me out the most.
I usually hold the mags in my arm-pits in staging.

Those nine ball gas route rubbers may not fit in a 1911.

The gas routes in a 1911 are shorter than in a hi capa, therefore, those (linked above) may not fit.

However, I have heard of some people fitting them... as far as I was aware they didn't fit in TM 1911 mags.

Might want to look into that. It may be possible to trim the bottom to make it shorter.

Edit: you can also try this: http://youtu.be/G4S2sspWmH4

Well some people actually take an old gift card and cut it into a riser to raise the gas route up a little. The idea is to create a better seal between the loading nozzle and the magazine. There may be a small gap where gas is wasted.

Is it a fairly new gun? If so there might not be much you can do to improve it. (Other than not rattling 20 shots off in 2 seconds)

Yes, you can!

In a Marui GBB pistol, if you somehow make bigger the floating valve in the BBU (in the 1911, adding material to the flat part) it will reduce the gas flow to the BB. The easy way is buying the Ra-Tech NPAS for Marui GBBs, basically an adjustable size floating valve:

http://www.airsofttaiwan.com/shop/goods.php?id=238

KJW CO2 guns are very popular here in Spain (outside the coast it can be very cold in winter. Not enought to stop playing, but enought to make propane gas GBBs almost useless), and our most accepted FPS limits of 300-330 for handguns make obligatory for us to modify the guns.

Here is a NPAS install guide for the KJW 1911: http://www.elparaca.com/?p=4595 (it's in spanish, but you can use google translation or just look at the self-explaining images).

This NPAS can also be used in other TM based guns like the M9, P226...etc.

Also, for the KP07 you should use the new v2 CO2 1911 mags ( http://www.kjworks.com.tw/productdetail.php?id=63 ) that have a small baseplate and new and more reliable output valves.

Hope this helps!

I just saw this:

I found with KJW mags I was getting BARELY 10 rounds out of the magazine...

Voila, the fix, is to use TM magazines, 20 rounds a pop, more or less.

The gun has a harder hammer spring than a stock TM, but the magazine is shit (compared to a TM). If you real cap, they will be fine, but you'll have to gas every load.

Sorry, I didn't mean those specific ones I posted the link for...but the ones that'll fit the gun in question.
