VFC XCR Semi-Auto problem

Hey all,

I recently purchased a VFC XCR, upgraded the piston, piston head, and cylinder head with aftermarket parts (also installed a sorbo pad), installed a Tienly Motor (HS/HT) as well as replaced the spring to a M115 by AIP.

I did a test after installing everything, and at first Semi Auto worked just fine. I switched to full auto and did a few bursts and a few long extended bursts to make sure everything was working. When I switched to Semi Auto fire though, it would let out a burst with every pull of the trigger (no mosfet or anything like that).

Is there a way to solve this problem so that every time I switch to semi auto fire, it only lets out one round?

Check the easy stuff first; starting with the cut off lever and then the selector plate.

It sure looks pretty one off. Any other VFC guns use the split box?

It looks like both the selector plate and the cut off lever are fine. The spring still retains some strength and the selector plate doesn't look warped or anything.

I did another test and if I don't get the piston locked back in a certain way, it jams on semi auto fire (I have to let a burst of full auto in order to get it back in order). Might it be the motor is just too fast for the gun itself?

is your piston being engaged properly? sorbo pad only helps if installed correctly..

brands of parts would also help.

Currently I have an LCT Piston inside with the last two teeth sanded off.
Guarder Piston Head and a AIP M115 Spring Installed.
Lonex Cylinder Head with a Sorbo Buddy installed (70 hardness)
Tienly 5000 Motor (HT/HS) Medium Type

The Gears, the Cut-off lever, the selector plate, and the air-nozzle (tappet plate) are all stock.

And when you say that the piston is being engaged properly, how do you know whether or not it is being properly engaged or not?

Will semi run OK with the mechbox split?

When I take the top of the gearbox off, it still does the exact same thing.

I do a few trigger pulls on semi auto fire (as fast as I can) and it'll sometimes lock up. It's almost as if the piston or the gears have to be in a certain position in order for it to perform on semi-auto fire properly.

Could it be that the selector plate is off?

It has to do with motor speed. I have that problem with fast motors like tienly. You can fix it by using a MOSFET that has AB or adjust the trigger contacts so te carriage only has to move a mm before its disengaged. Or you can raise the rof. I've found that I have double shooting problems at 25 rps or so but after 35 rps there's enough pre cocking that the motor doesn't build enough inertia to double shoot.

So hold on. Is it firing auto in semi or is it locking up in semi? Or both?

It sounds like your "jams" are semi auto seizures after your gun double shoots. There is just enough momentum in your gears and motor to pull the piston back enough to finish the cycle, but the sector gear stops in a position that leaves the cutoff lever halfway up, causing what you perceive to be a trigger jam. Full auto fixed it because it disengages the cutoff lever.

Both actually. It'll jam up in semi-auto fire (occasionally doing the double shot as Pesto has said) and occasionally it'll lose semi all together and become full auto till I flip to safe and back to semi again.

Is there a good way to fix that issue, or is MOSFET, trigger contact and ROF fix the only way to deal with the issue?

Sure sounds like a Mosfet is what you want.
