CYMA AKS-74U replacement outer barrel
Hi guys,
I got this gun used and the outer barrel thread is totally shredded! I would like to get a new one but it looks like nothing is available except AK-47 barrels. I checked evike, tigerHK111, ehobbyasia, etc. Is there other options opened to me or am I stuck with this barrel? Will I have to get a new gun just for the barrel? Thanks in advance, Chris |

And after removing the front sight, it appears that the thread is on the front sight. So it might be a bit easier to find a new one after all!

This is the part you want (ECHO1 is a rebranded CYMA). Link for reference only, shop around for better prices (its ~$15-20):

Thanks
Thanks Drake. I wasn't sure if they were different or rebranded but know I know.

Looks like I'm out of luck... no one as one under 20$ + 30$ shipping in the US! Anyone as an idea of where I could get one cheaper than this and in Canada? Or even a used one from a project gun?
Thanks, Chris |

Hey Chris,
Had the same thing happen on my CYMA AK-105. Depending on what kind of flash hider/muzzle brake you want on the end, it might be easier to get one like the DBoys which has a thread adapter that actually secures to the barrel using a grub screw. http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/...&view_choice=c It will end up being cheaper and the plus is that it's steel instead of the pot metal crap that CYMA uses. There's also this one for even cheaper because the shipping price is included in the listed price. Not sure how the make is though. http://www.ebairsoft.com/ak74u-steel...er-p-6732.html If you're going for an AKM muzzle brake though, slant style, you'll just have to strip the threads entirely and glue the muzzle brake in place. Hope that helps Quote:
