STAR MP5 LOW CAPS
So I finally got my mags from Kuramae yesterday. I waited for these babys since October. When I got home I looked at the box. Box looked plain and nothing too fancy.
Brown box with this printed on the top left corner. EXPENDABLE 30 ROUNDS DATA: HKMP5 SERIES CALIBER; 6MM ACTION: BATTERY POWER, GEAR BOX ACTION CAPACITY: 30 ROUNDS Reliable with proper maintenance, Under the control of the law section 876 D 24 Title 21 U.S.C. So I tried to open this box and it took some figuiring out but eventually I said screw it and just ripped it open. I was trying to keep it intact but oh well. As soon as I ripped open the box I saw not one, not two, but 10 black MP5 LOWCAPS!!! Needless to say I was thrilled I heard that they were supposed to come with loading rods but mine didn't but whatever right. The magazine The body of the mag has the color right but only a bit lighter compared to the TM Standard ones but its not very noticable. The only big differnce was the weight. These mags were very light but they are pretty strong and can get the job done. Loading of these mags was a breeze I was going to buy BB loader the thumb ones from TM but Kuramae wanted like 28 bucks for one so I decided that it can wait since I'm ordering some stuff from U.S. soon. A tip is that if you plan to use loading rods and you have a long version that holds like 70 mark down the 30 then another 30 so you can load mags quickly. Shooting They worked well and didn't have any feeding problems. I give these mags 4/5 dead bodies Pros: low price std cap for realism if you lose one its not the end of the world Cons no markings like the 9mm marking on TM ones light color is a little off

Koopa is too sexy to be limited by societal norms. And yeah, my experience with STAR mags is that they NEVER jam.

mine never came with loading rods either. and mine hold exactly 28 rounds (both m4 and mp5) and my ak ones hold 29 rounds. one other thing to mention is that the mp5 and ak mags are painted and that paint comes off real easy during storage in mag/dump pouches, revealing a light grey plastic underneath (m4 mags are unpainted and that is their normal colour). also, they fit in ics and tm guns better than the o.e. mags from each and i have yet to have one jam on me or fail. the downside is they are not really made for disassembly if they fail, rather just throw them in the bush and move on.

I see thanks for the info. Fine I guess you guys can stick to your clips and I'll stick to my mags....wait what are ammo belts called then? Belts? Chains? I never questioned Koopa's sexyness because I've never seen him but if you guys think he is then w/e

I had one of thier ak mags jam on me once after a fall, and aside from making me drop it on the ground for abit once I figured it was jammed so I wouldn't try to use it again (still had bb's in it but wouldn't feed them) I just took a key and gave it a good couple of pokes moving the spring around it unjammed and works fine now.
They are light and the paint/colour isn't the best but for the price I think they're well worth it. |

we played a game last year with 3 guys pinned in a building. we each had literally dozens of mags each and dropped them as we used them. looked pretty cool being surrounded by spent mags. if they were all tm it would have really been scary. on a side note another maker called MAG makes "disposable" 100 round mp5 mags in a 8-pack for a little more than star. i may try some out this winter and see what gives. but their design will must likely be a "double-stacked" arrangement that has been known to cause some grief in older g&p thermomold m4 mags and standard m4 mags. but for guys not after the "30 rnd. purity factor" they are another option.

got a case of M4 and Mp5 stars from WGC
for under $50 each, that works out to around $5 a mag.....in canadian. there is no way in hell you can go wrong with that. |

I have some star mp5 mags and they feed quite well, but as stated the fit and finish limits them to strictly field-use mags. They look and feel like plastic, and there is absolutely no cool factor when they're inserted in an otherwise full metal gun. That's why I use TM locaps when it's displayed on my desk.

Here's a tip don't try to load BBs one by one with your fingers...it hurts like hell
