What's the chance that Canada Customs will STEAL from our shipments?
Hey guys,
So I just received a shipment of GBBs/Shotguns here at my office and started to open the boxes. Upon opening the last box I noticed something funny. It looks like there is a 'void' within the box which would fit perfectly a box for a Maruzen M1100 Revision model. Now, coincedently, i am missing 1 Revision model out of the shipment. All the boxes have customs tape on it, meaning they opened and inspected the goods. I haven't contacted my supplier in Asia yet because it's still early morning there, but what is the chance that a person working at Customs stole one of the shotguns? I know it's highly unlikely but hey, anything can happen at our boarders :banghead: |

maybe they "forgot" to put it back in the box? or they just plain forgot, whatever
side note: so, a new shipment has come in huh? .... might mosey over to specarms sometime soon.... |

Will,
You think that may still count as a customs seizure so that you can at least get credit on that item for a future order? I'm guessing without any paperwork, proving that may be hard... |

maybe the gun was excessively powerfull, resulting in a confiscation...if your a licenced dealer/seller , well i dont see why they would take it?!? possibly they wanted to have some fun and release the innner child

Hey Will,
It's never happened to me with large items.. throughout the years, it's been small items, but as stated above, could have just been missed putting it back in the box. It should not have been taken due to any fps related issues. If there was some issue like that, they would have held up the whole shipment, and contacted you about it. As for your "void". Although it's not a nice thought, it's also reality that Customs is really "above the law" and can certianly do what they want, and there's not much you or I could do about it, and they know that. We both know they have there own set of laws and guidelines in their own minds, and I have certainly heard of items going "missing" from others I know (different knives ect..). Hopefully, your supplier just forgot to pack it up for you!

I believe its through human resources, you take a one time test and its a few hundred buck's and your certified to work customs forever. My boss worked/s custom's. You have a complaint you best keep it to yourself. When they hear flak they just tear through things since they have the RIGHT to do whatever they please in their "Discretion" haha. So basically good luck tracking that gun down brother!!! Keep your fingers crossed and ear to the ground.
Peace! |

Why would they take the m40. They only confiscate guns that don't shoot hot enough. As long as it can hurt people its acceptable. |

Assuming all the proper paperwork is in order, they shouldn't be taking anything.
Call them up. Best advice I can give you. Perhaps, because of shotshell design (I'm presuming here, gentle on me ), so poorly informed customs agent saw the big bore and automatically assumed it was a real shottie?
