The first video was actually pretty good. Wasn't really at all biased.
Damn I miss New Zealand. =[

Sadly it will never happen, unless we made a documentary ourselves, but then again it would probably be edited to hell by whoever was going to air it...

i think we have the ability and the talent to make 1.. atleast a short 1..
and i think ppl will air it.. because they air anything that'll get them viewers.. even if they show the other "bad"[<--in the puclics eyes] side of the whole issue..
i [or some1 like me] get a good camera from my uni [or wherever].. and i have a lil experience in video editing.. we'll need a writer and a directer and a camera man..

im not promising anything.. im just suggesting the idea in general

Well I am in some film classes right now, I have been contimplating for a while to maybe do some sort of 'documentary' type of movie for the betterment of airsoft. Or at least just for the community.

Got a whole summer ahead of me, may work on it, not sure. Depends on what comes up this summer.

I have the CBC story on airsoft which is a few years old and isn't quite as good as that but it still puts the sport in a somewhat positive light.

The whole thing with no CDN network doing a decent length documentary on airsoft I think is just like how the host described it in the first video. The CDN airsoft community tend to keep a low profile of our sport to "please" soccer moms acorss the country and prevent immature kids out of the sport kind of makes it a paradox. On one hand we would like social acceptance on the sport, on the other, we make it a somewhat isolated group to prevent airsoft abuse. So pretty tough to find the perfect balance of those.

I too has fallen to the paradox, it would be great to have the sport open, having more player, much like in Japan and HK (With tons of stores and plenty of field), but on the other hand, I don't want the sport to be banned because of some idiots out there deciding to carry out drive-by shooting.

But just one really cool thought, imagine airsoft becoming a new sport broadcasted on TSN or Sportsnet. It would create some pretty good popularity and general acceptance to the sport. Though I don't think it would ever happen unless Americans decide they are tired of baseball, football, hockey and the growing soccer leagues. (Hey, I would rather watch an airsoft game on TSN than the fishing shows they have in the summer.)

im just curious.. can somebody do a stucy [or find 1] that compares how man ppl have been hurt by airsoft to how many ppl have been hurt by baseball bats.. or in a football game.. i think having proven stastics like that would help our side..
its true idiots can use this sport's tools to do stupid things.. but its the same, if not worse, with so many accepted sports

I remember a few years ago I saw on tv, i don't recall if it was CBC, a report about airsoft. It was between 5-10 years ago already. Anyway for those who dream of a positive documentary on airsoft it has already been done in CDN, maybe it should be updated.

edit:
