Tokyo Marui m4a1 Problems

Hi everybody, my problem concerns my Tokyo Marui M4a1 that I bought a couple weeks ago. The problem is simple, When I put the selector on semi or auto, nothing happens, no sound, nothing... I don't think it's the battery (was on charge for 8 hour). I don't know anything about AEG internals. I try to open the AEG but even after removing the receiver pin the m4 won't open.(Probobly something I'm not doing right cause the manuel was saying to only remove the pin then it was suppose to open...). I know i'm probably doing a stupid error somewhere but please help me.

Thanks for taking the time,

ww2warrior

Do you have a voltmeter to check the battery? All connections, wires, etc secure?

Go over your wires, try a different battery, if those dont work, local expert will be able to help you. Trying to much yourself might make things worse.

If you want to do it yourself in the future. Contact a gun doctor who would let you watch on the side, and you can try it yourself later.

Sounds like you have two "problems" present, one related to the other:

1) Your motor connects are loose. Open up the grip plate (2 phillips screws on the bottom of your pistol grip) and pull out the plate. Keep your eye on the motor plate (a tiny metal disc). Don't lose it, and remember how it comes out. You'll need to replace it or you risk destroying your motor. The motor connects are directly visible from there and have a tendency of working their way loose. Tighten the loose one up with a *TINY* pinch with a pair of needle-nose pliers and re-attach. If you tighten it too much, it'll be harder to reattach, but not impossible.

2) The second issue is related to the first issue - it seems like your motor connects came loose when your piston was wound back. If there's no power going to the system, it can not continue the gun's cycle to release the piston. Since the piston is now blocking the cutouts in your gearbox, it prevents you from opening up your receiver through the standard takedown methods.
**WHEN THIS OCCURS, DO _NOT_ ATTEMPT TO OPEN YOUR RECEIVER BY FLIPPING IT OPEN AS PER THE MANUAL'S INSTRUCTIONS OR YOU WILL BREAK YOUR RECEIVER TABS!!!**
Go back to problem/solution (1) I've provided to reattach the motor connects and resupply power to the system. Fire off ONE shot in semi-auto to release the spring/piston. It should relieve the cutouts to allow you to open your receiver.

Hope that helps. Let us know how it turns out.

I would make sure you have a 100% working battery to test first.. Then
check the fuse then check the Motor connections then open up the gun.

Start simple end hard!

And a strong battery, depending on the one he is using now, to unjam his piston and complete the cycle, use a large Sub C pack battery, 3000 mah + will do the trick.
