Question Opinion on "protection"

just curious how many people would say that it is better to experience the pain of a hit rather than being covered head to toe in gear? and vice versa.

I wear a bundle of gear but it isn't to get away from the "pain," it is a neccesary part of the role I play......... we are just role playing right, I would think most of the players would feel the same

Mind you, you could always test this therory, go to a game in full kit and then go to a game in a speedo.... which outfit was a better experience

I find the only problem is a lot of crap, especially if it's fabric, you don't always realise you've been hit.

Airsoft hits hurt? You'll feel the hit but it never hurts, may sting for a second.

It only really hurts when your team mate shoots you in the backs of the knees with an upgraded gun at ten feet while your taking a piss. Other than that, yeah, a minor sting is all you feel unless someone is shooting inside the minimum engagement range.

I got hit in the left testicle once at point blank. I was showing my dad my new AEG and he wanted to know if it hurts when I get hit,so he turns around and shoots me with it, damn it stung!

I just can't trust a brand with that name.

When I think of anything Trojan/Troy related, I think of a big wooden horse going into a fortress, and once it gets inside, it BUSTS open and a bunch of men come out. Not very reassuring.

Those that say airsoft doesn't hurt are either full of it, or have never been shot with a real airsoft gun in CQB. When you're hit multiple times in a fleshy area with BBs travelling fast enough to break your skin and make you bleed through your shirt, trust me. It hurts.

its not about the pain or anything lke that, its about simulation. besides even with full kit you stiull hear the distinct thwap when it hits your vest or shirt. the better player you become, the more you realise when youve been hit.

What the hell fps do you play CQB with? I've been hit point blank stitched across the thighs with about 6 shots from a gun shooting 350fps (the max for CQB around Ottawa/Montreal) and it left little welts but no bleeding (stung like a bitch for a minute or so.) I was only wearing a pair of Frontenac CADPAT pants, no padding. Minimum engagement range still applies in CQB, that shouldn't have happened but stuff like that does, its inevitable. I've also been shot in the throat from 15' from a 400fps gun, just kinda fell over, didn't even call it (doubt I was capable of it at the time.) Other than accidents and the like airsoft never hurts more than a moderate sting (moderate relative to, say, a 400fps gun hitting you in the throat from 15')

That's why you never get naked with your dad and let him hold your gun.
