Dumb mag release issue
Folks,
One of my M4's seems to have a strange problem with the mag release. Issue is this - the machine screw that holds the mag release seems to protrude from the top of the mag release button. If I try to tighten it to sink it down, it turns but doesn't go any further. I didn't think much of it until tonight when I was practicing reload drills (for my real rifle) using the airsoft M4. After about 300 repetitions, the mag release button had almost fallen off. I tightened it down again, but still, the machine screw protudes. Qu'est que fuck? Wrong size screw? Maybe not seated properly against the release latch? Any ideas? I have a little blister on the tip of my index finger from the effin thing.... |

Some manufacturers use screws of different dimensions that fit perfectly with THEIR parts, but not others.
I.E. G&P mag release assembly screws will not work with HurricanE steel mag release assemblies. If this problem has never occured before (i.e. you've had the same screw in the same mag release assembly forever and it fit flush before), then it might be a screw seating problem.

The gun in questions is a parts gun, put together from all the leftovers I had over the years. So yeah, it's entirely possible that the machine screw isn't from the mag release in question. Given that it's a TM plastic body on this one, can I just get some TM furniture and swap it out?
Anyone got a spare mag release assembly? |
