TM M4 + Magpull Miad = Problem

Just got one of those Magpull PTS Miad grips, very nice and all, but when I throw it on my M4, it misaligns the motor and no amount of adjusting will fix it.. throw on my G27 and works fine.

Anyone else have this problem or a problem with this Grip and can offer a solution or modification to fix?

Thanks.

Check the routing of your motor wires. Make sure they're both run down the same side and that they aren't binding against the body of the motor. I stripped a pinion and a bevel before Colin_S fixed the problem for me...

red wire crosses over at the bottom and runs up beside the black then crosses back over the motor, never had a problem with the wires in the G27.

Illusion told me some people had to dremel some of it off and spacer one side to make it sit right, but im not seeing what part exactly or how much.

I had to file down my Magpul grip to get it to fit perfect with my G&P. Never had any motor alignment problem at all, just the grip fitting perfectly flush at the top.

mine doesn't screw in a the way on my G&P body either, although the motor alignment sounds ok..... where did you file inside the grip to fit it flush?

Um, I filed mine down along the top inside of the grip (the top edge on both sides above the "Magpul MIAD" trade). I also filed off the first maybe 3mm of the grip guide lines inside the grip on each side, and finally, filed some of the thickness off the grip guide lines on the left side of each guide (looking straight at 'em).

Just go slow, fit the grip, check it, and then file a bit more if it doesn't sit flush - repeat till done. In the end mine fits perfectly flush and tight with no motor issues.

I had to file the inside of my Magpull grip because it didn't fit over the 7mm bushing, but the motor seems normally aligned.

Not sure, could be the grip, my man Jugglez is sending me out a new G27 grip, same as my old one and im sending the MP one back.. not taking any chances of a replacement not working before next weekend.. I may try another later to see if it was just that grip..
