Recommended airsoft manufacturers?
Before I say anything about this thread, I am NOT asking which is the best airsoft gun. I am asking however what airsoft manufacturer creates top of the line airsoft guns?
From your own airsoft experience, I was wondering if you had switched from one airsoft manufacturer to another and realized that one company was better than the other.(Switching from a Tokyo Mauri gun to ICS gun?) As a soon to be airsofter, I was wondering what airsoft company I should buy from? Thank you... If you have a link to a discussion on this forum that can help me this, please post it. |

Anything with metal body feels more solid on the field.
also, I found TM guns to be very WOBBLY and NOT SOLID, so I always hated them on the field trying to work with the wobbles. |

Systema PTW is top of the line stock. If you have the a stack of cash just sitting around go for it, pretty much its a RS M4 that shoots BBs.

As far as manufacturers go, I've been through two Classic Army guns - a SAR Taktik (g3) and an M15A4 (M4-A1). I've upgraded the g3 and it never gave me any problems. For both guns I opened the gearbox and regreased them properly as soon as I got them. I've had yet to experience any problem with either weapon. I did just build a systema PTW challenge kit and I think it's well worth the money. There are many threads here about which gun/type of gun/manufacturer is the best. they all have their strengths and weaknesses (some guns from one manufacturers are great, others are terrible. It all depends on the make/model. Search. it's your best friend. you'll be glad you took the time to research it)

Well the initial question itself has a very very broad answer that can be heavily affected by opinions. Each company has its pro's and cons.
One thing to consider is the companies that have been around for a long time, obviously they have been doing something right. Well sort of, its not as easy as that, there have been companies that have been around forever and still make the same mistakes, and there are new up and comming companies whose quality is growing by leaps and bounds each day. In Canada a good thing to consider when your about to purchase an airsoft gun is that cost "can" is most likly related to quality, but not always in all cases. Another thing to think of is, just because a person has the best brand of gun doesnt make them the best or better player. Here for your reading is a wiki list of the majority of airsoft manufactuers out there, including both who work with only AEGS and gas only companies. Read it, but take it all with a grain of salt. I had alot more to say but I think this link will be enough for you to chew on for now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._Manufacturers I'll be harvesting both testicles now. Next time I take the prostate as well.

Have you tried anything other than an armalite from TM? Sound like you haven't.

you know their famas is very very creaky, their aug has some play between the upper and lower receiver, also allota weak points (those are all the TM I've held). TM guns are good guns, you just most of the time need to replace their plastic bodies with metal ones.

For the love of god if your just starting don't waste your money on a PTW. Like it was mentioned before spending 2k+ does not make you any better. I've seen people fall victim to Krakens using PTWs! Its all about you, Not your gun.

I've only owned TM guns, I destroyed my first 2 in abusive play doing things that are not covered as safe or within use parameters such as:
Each of my MP5's lasted about 15mo's to 2 years with regular maintenance with only vary degree's of damage to the exterior. BTW I lived in HK at the time and I was only ~16. I currently own a M4 for over a year and I have no complaints about wobble, or anything for that matter (other than it's unrealistic weight) With normal maintenance it shoots great (currently stock). However, Some people have had failures in their TM guns after only a couple games or a couple thousand rounds (crunchmeister). Think of guns like cars sometimes you get a lemon. When the new model civics came out in 2006 My uncle has had to replace his twice because of transmission failures in under 5000km. This advice comes at the cost of a new Kidney.

TM SIG552 is actually very solid, their longer guns and armalite series are not.
So for mainstream manufacturers in order of best to worst: Systema, G&P, CA/TM, G&G, ICS. Having never held or used any VFC or STAR guns I can't form an opinion about them. And CA and TM are on the same level because although you save money on a metal body by buying a CA gun, it's internals are less than adequate, whereas TM internals are really good. I myself switched from TM G3 with a CA metal body, to CA36 (unfortunately not one of their metal guns lol). Once a teammate of mine bought a G&P M249 and I looked it over, our whole team switched from CA to G&P. |

G3 wobbles somewhat on the receiver G36C and MP5J are really good with wobbles I have to say, all SMG types all around with the foregrip attached to the body has no wobbles as far as my experience goes. AK and VSR does really good as well, I don't like TM mainly because of their plastic body, creaks and more wobbles than metal bodied ones. I've also handled a CA G36C I broke the bolt handle and it seems like it's an everyday thing for CA G36C owners, and trust me, I'm not a guy with 200lbs of muscle. The body is great though, don't wobble at all. Last edited by Skladfin; April 5th, 2008 at 13:56.. |

After a 24 hour op, my G3 wobbled back and forth about 2 inches, my friends TM M16 was the same if not worse right after he bought it. The longer guns NEED metal bodies lol
