digital camo

well ive seen a couple sites offering woodland opr desert camofluaging for a nextra 50 bucks i thought that was kinda cool but i started thinking about a way to do it myself

i used to be really into grafitti so i have quite the array of paint markers which could(havnt tried)write on the surface of my gun. this wouldnt serve a real purpose but i think it would look pretty badass. i was wondering if anyone has tried to camo there own gun and what supplies did they use.

thanks alot also if you guys could post and digital camo pictures so i get an idea on how i could make a stencil or something to paint up my gun

There is a marpat set for an armalite (rail covers, rear stock, etc) which you can find on places like redwolf. I have seen a CADPAT sniper rifle on these forums before.

I'd do it to a VSR but I can't bring myself to paint the SAM-R lol

look at how hes painted these
you can get a pretty good idea of how to do it then

Start off by painting it your base color
Then simply make a bunch of stencils in the outline of the digi pattern u want (you'll need three different sets, one for each top color) ie. CADPAT is a base coat of Olive green, then its just a matter of layering the different colored stencils over each other
Study a pic of the camo you want and you'll see it

Just to let u know, its a long process, but if ur willing to put in the time, Im sure it'll turn out great

PS. Im not saying this is the "right" way of doing it, but its what Ive always used and it turns out fine
just thought Id throw in a bit of input :P

3 layers.

works better in 2.

anyway its not a perfect digital patern. however your not gona notice unless you look at it and it actually seems to work. my aug seems to be a lot harder to see now when i put it on the edge of the small woods in my back yard then it was before i painted it.
