AK47 Mod
Hey guys,
So I was wondering if anyone out there knew if a Guarder kit for the TM AK47, ( http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...7_srch_guarder ) would be compatible with the CA AK47. Im interested in fixing up the interior components of the AEG, but i want to do the research first. Thanks in advance, Cheers. |

IMO, the SP150 spring is way too much for the standard MB. You should get a reinforced MB first. Don't forget to 9.6v battery and get a good aegsmith.

Well, if you're actually planning on playing airsoft, I'd highly recommend against getting the kit with the 150 spring. That will put you WAY over the 400 fps velocity limit imposed at most games in Canada. My CA M15 has a Prometheus MS110SP spring, and with its tightbore barrel pushes 385-390 fps, which is just under the limit.
Now to answer your question; yes, the parts will be compatible with a CA mechbox. I don't know how strong the CA V3 mechboxes are. I know their V2 are reinforced and can easily handle high velocities without endangering your mechbox shell. I assume that their V3 mechboxes are equally reinforced. Installing a sorbo pad would also help elleviate stress on the mechbox shell. And I believe that the Ca V3 mechbox uses 7mm bushings instead of 6mm, so you could use your stock bushings which are just fine and of good quality. So if you're only intending to use this gun for plinking, then yeah, that's a great choice. Otherwise, get something with a weaker spring.

i just upgraded my TM V3 with systema cylinder head, systema bearing piston head, modify air nozzle, modify V3 bearing spring guide, 6mm deep fire bushings, deep fire shims, PPA 100 spring, and a mad bull 6.03 inner barrel and the thing shoots hard and straight with .25s. I will be chronoing my ak tomorow and will post the FPS. Also Im running a 9.6 2400mAh bat. I needed the help of local gun guru the first time assembling, taught how to shim properly and what needs to go where. So I strongly urge you to get a gun doc to give you a hand the first time. Cuz after that its as easy as wiping your ass to add upgrades.

The TM is 6mm plastic bushings. CA is 7mm metal bushings stock. Please, do a little research of your own before making comments like that. The original poster already stated it was going into a CA ak47, not TM. I will agree however that unless your willing to screw around with and possibly ruin your gun, work with a guntech the first time.
My stock CA v3 handles a systema m120 spring with no problems, and thats after a good 5000 rounds through it (SAW ftw). If it is a stock CA box, the most you'll need to upgrade is the following: - Spring, don't need anything higher than an m120 for games. - Bearing spring guide - Bearing piston head - Cylinder head - Cylinder - Piston, polycarb will work just fine - Shims Tappet plate is optional but a good idea, especially since they're $10 or so overseas, and the plastic CA uses is somewhat soft. Note that if you do use a m120 spring, you'll need to ensure that you have a 9.6v battery to pull the spring at a decent rate, if at all; larger capacity the better. Now I run all systema parts, with the exception of a deepfire nozzle, and they all run beautifully. Only issue I've ever had with them was a red piston exploding, but that was a one in four, and I've had 0 issues with the new black polycarb ones. Bearings are a bad idea in a higher power setup, they're better suited to a lower power/high ROF setup, and still only to a certain degree. Did you have a specific purpose to this gun, or just a general use rifle?

Perhaps you should look things up when you have no clue what you're talking about. I wasn't 100% certain if the AK had 6 or 7mm bushings, as different models of CA guns use either. Turns out all their AKs have 7mm in their V3 mechboxes.

I wouldn't reccomend that kit. It may be good quality but like alot of other kids, they just want it to shoot fast. Putting something of that tension in your mechbox will put a fair bit of stress on your mechbox. Not that it can't stand up to it, but I find putting something with that strength into an AEG can make them very problematic.

Ah crap, sorry guys, I linked the wrong kit. For some reason my browser doesn't want to give me the right link, so heres a quick write up.
Package Includes: - SP120 Spring ( Oil Quenched/Tempered Si-Cr Alloy Steel Wire ) - Polycarbonate Piston - Air Seal Nozzle - Ball Bearings Spring Guide - Polycarbonate Ventilation Piston Head - Stainless Cylinder Head - Lucid Chromium Plating Cylinder - Original Type Steel Gear - Enhanced Tappet - 6mm Steel Bushing - Shim Set - SUPER-LUBE Oil X3 Material: S303 Stainless Steel/Brass/Polycarbonate/Acetal/Steel Recommended for 9.6V Batteries This was the kit I originally meant to link. Sorry about that. Anyways, would these parts be compatible with a CA AK47? |

If they're meant for a v3, you should be just fine with something like that.
