New Times on American Airsoft

In short, they find airsoft players to be idiots and airsoft guns to be dangerous.

The usual, you know...

Where are the journalists who support airsoft?

I guess that they don't want to submit responses because they are not worth of trying.

Not nessecarily, journalism is becoming stupid, back when it was crack reporting and journalism it was the "golden era" of news but now since everything is censored by the news corporations becasue they don't want to upset the wrong people it's gone downhill.

Plus the reporters don't want to be out of a job for speaking their mind and making the public actually think, cause thinking is such hard work...

Just saying mercy is better, isn't that what we have?

I'd like to see someone write something positive, there could be lots of reasons why people play and what could influence younger players.

- Airsoft teaches responsibility and safety. Have fun, but do it safely
- Something you can be passionate about. I'd rather have my kid (if I had one) play airsoft with me and do it responsibly than hang out in a mall parking lot drinking.
- respect for the people in the military, history and achievements. Leanring from mistakes.

etc..

There was a piece done in New Zealand a while back that was generally positive. And the CBC one wasn't too bad either.

I don't find it that much offenisve. It does shows some danger aspect of playing with replica gun (getting shot by cops). But it seem too me that it shows a lot of responsables people playing it the safest way posible.

Maybe I've missed a part, cause I at the office and had to read itin three part.

I thought that was Australia (with the documentary/tv spot) with and there was some weird rule about having them single only otherwise it was illegal. I would take single shot only any day if it would take AS out of the grey area. (Plus that would reduce the number of blind shooters and "spray and prayers") (but also be a weird for the MG players) .

@ Panda: True but what age? 14? 16? I would probably let them join in with me at 14-15 being the earliest and probably let them join at 16-17.

Also I think you're kinda stereotyping teens, I mean I never drank in a parking lot but my parents were quite liberal (not the word I'm looking for but only thing that comes up in my mind) with alcohol, maybe a quarter glass of wine at dinner with steak or at a party (first time I think I was 15-16). Also at school now I haven't drank yet (*with nose turned up* beer is such a commoner drink )

PS: I'm also asian so I guess that drive to do well in school or my parents will kill me was a good reason to not be stupid.

irsofters like to think of themselves as a secret society, a brotherhood of warriors. Their forays are clandestine. The "soldiers" have code names. Some even go through initiation rites. They play for the camaraderie, for the love of guns, to spice up lives dulled by long hours in office cubicles. A few young men consider the game to be hands-on training for eventual real-life combat, be it with the military or a SWAT team.

articles that talks about the positive side of Airsoft is boring. The reader(Usually middle aged) doesn't care about that stuff, UNLESS it's dangerous and concerns their safety.

that's why you always hear about the bad things in the news.
