Anti reversing spring
Well things were going good for awhile,my agm m14 was shooting spot on,
when I started hearing the spring unwind after firing a shot.I know I installed the anti reversing latch spring correctly, has anyone else had a problem like this.I have fired about two full high caps through it before this problem.

I tried editing, but it wouldn't work hence my second post. Are there
different strengths of springs for these anti reversing latches?.This is the second time this has happened.

no there aren't any different strength springs.
sometimes the reversal latch spring could be too weak to push back the reversal latch before the gear unwinds. This has happened once on a Systema gearbox, they used steel reversal latch and that made it much heavier. I replaced it with a normal TM one and it shot fine and happily ever after |

You are suggesting my my latch may be to heavy?,so I should
replace the latch and spring and this should solve my problem?.

Sounds to me like your spring broke.
And actually there ARE different strength of anti reversal latch springs, the stock springs are usually crap, I suggest a systema or prometheus anti reversal latch. It's a thicker spring so it's less likely to break AND it's stronger. |

Or as a quick fix, you can try stretching the spring in the correct direction. I did that for an anti-reversal latch that was too strong and wouldn't let me get the mechbox closed without things popping out.

Well I finished opening my AGM to look at the spring,it is on the wrong side
again of the anti reversing latch. Are there different lengths to these springs?. Though the bent part of the spring that hooks to the latch is straightened out a bit. This is I think also the cause of my semi-auto problem,I observed that when the gears didn't unwind,it would fire correctly, but when it did,the lever was up half way and it would fire in auto.Either way,I need 2 new springs. One for my TM M16 and one for my AGM M14,anyone have some new springs they can sell me please?.

Get sets of gearbox springs from Airsoftparts.

Might be cheaper to simply but 2 new ARL.

i think my brothers kirenex has a problem like this. sometimes when you let go of the trigger it makes a whirr-ir-ir noise. thought the problem was the anti-reversal latch and opened everything up and checked it out and the spring on it was rather stiff so i dunno, the motors probly worn
and yea i hate that when youre trying to close a gearbox and everything wants to pop out. i dont have enough hands to hold down the anti-reversal latch, trigger mech, tappet plate between the gear and shims and bushing, and the spring pushing the cylinder up all while trying to close the gearbox

I should try this and let you guys know, I too have an AGM. At first I thought it might be a poorly made spring and I'm sure the ARL is installed properly. But as phalanx mention, it might not be aligned properly, especially with those helical gears in there. I noticed they are slightly thicker than standard gears.

Well the brand new springs is in both guns now.The AGM M14 is
now firing in both modes again, semi and auto, this seemed to fix my problem and will be firing both for tests as soon as I reassemble my M16.Thanks again jugglez.
