How to lessen recoil of TM Hicapa

I have a slightly modified TM hicapa 5.1 with a nine ball 6.03 TB, Airsoft Surgeon light weight blow back, Nine ball short stroke recoil spring, Guarder 150% hammer spring, Guarder enhanced loading nozzle and a metal slide, I use this setup for IPSC style airsoft and lastly i use green gas. My question is how do i lessen the recoil of the gun in order for me not to loose the sight picture.

You could use Duster 134a gas. But this is a BIG power decrease from propane (AKA Green gas).

You probably don't want to do this but it will lessen the recoil a lot:

Use the plastic slide instead of metal, and don't use the 150% recoil spring.

150% hammer spring, not recoil spring.

I used an enhanced recoil spring and plastic slide on my KSC G19 for a few years and it was very fast and crisp without a lot of kick. Different gun yes, but concept is the same. Maybe get a front end attachment that adds weight to reduce the muzzleflip.

The heavier the recoil spring ,the LESS recoil is felt. Not the other way around.

Damn it, I'd typed up a huge response and submitted while the server was down... while not realizing it was down.

It's gone now, but it basically covered gripping techniques as well as controlling recoil with stance, proper placement of hands and fingers, etc.

Anyways, you can get basics of it as taught by Todd Jarrett. Search Youtube, there are tons of excellent instructional videos on there for practical shooting.

As far as mechanical modifications goes, the best modification I can think of to buffer recoil energy is with a rubber/foam pad at the base of the spring guide to absorb the slide contact.

Some aftermarket spring guides (such as the Firefly one) come with this foam and this buffer GREATLY REDUCES felt blowback energy.
