Feedback - PTW motor repairs/ bulk shipment.

To all those PTW owners that are concerned about or have issues with their motors...

I am looking at sending out another shipment of motors to be given the "Tackleberry" treatment, but I was wondering if anyone else would like to join in on it.
The motors get shipped out to Great Britain and I send by FedEx (2-3 day express). Shipping costs will be split up equally. I have personally had 2 of my own motors serviced and I can say that the mods are well worth it!
If you should have any questions or concerns please PM me and I will do my best to answer them.

If you are a member on the Systema forums you can check it all out here:
http://www.systema-europe.com/Forum/...s.asp?TID=2452

Please keep this thread clean and no PTW-bashing!

New motors arriving soon also, just a FYI.

I can vouch for tackleberry he is a PTW Guru.

He also does a custom hop-up adjuster and will water-proof your boards. If they can withstand the UK, they can withstand Canada.

But you'd have to remove your electronics from your lower. I wouldn't advise shipping the complete lower.

I can vouch for Tack's work as well,Kevin had sent one of mine in as well and very happy with it! What a difference,it's like running a modified motor in it and you can't even hear the thing turn nice, very nice!
All though you could take the electroincs out(yeh I know!),it's better than trying to sent the lower! If it's that spray he's using you can do it your self. Just an idea?
The spray is called "Electro Protect spray" they list it at survivalaids.com for $16.00.

It's going to happen, I want the rest of mine done before the Loonie gets any lower...
I'll give people here on ASC until next Monday to get me their motor(s), after that it's tough luck!

Remove grip plate screws.

Pull off grip.

De-solder motor leads.

Drive out motor retaining pins.

Turn motor 90 degrees and slide out of receiver.

DeathMarch & I sent out three motors for repairs and the cost was roughly $110 CAD /per motor. That includes shipping (there & back), repairs and paypal fees. Turnaround took exactly 2 weeks. Keep in mind that shipping is the silent killer here when it comes to the overall costs, it roughly adds up to being 50% of the total price.
This is still way cheaper than buying a new motor...

I'm surprised no one is interested in getting these motor mods...
DeathMarch I'll PM you and get together so I can send them out Monday evening!

Is he shooting on an acrylic clear coat? You can find that stuff at KBCTools amongst other suppliers.
