Looking to upgrade my MP5, need help.

I read Skruface's "Why do I need to upgrade (or not) - with explanations!" and found it very helpful, but I still want a little more guidance before I spend money.

I want to upgrade my TM MP5-A5 to get a little more velocity from the stock internals. What kind of spring would give me more velocity without killing my stock gears or mechbox? What else should I be looking to upgrade at the same time? I'm not looking for crazy velocity, anywhere from 300-350fps should be good because I want to be able to use it for CQB scenarios.

M120 spring and while your at it do the bushings.
get a tight bore barrel and new hop up rubber

I use an M120 and I chrono at ~400. I would say M110 or M100, personally. But yeah, change to metal bushings. TB will boost muzzle velocity by what.. ~10 fps? I think.

EDIT: Yeah definitely M100, in my opinion. It'll probably bring you between 300 and 350. M110 even, and your probably pushing past 350. Especially with a tightbore barrel.

Thanks for all the advice, I think I'm going for the M100. I forgot to ask before, will a higher tension spring kill my 8.4v mini a lot faster? Should I think about upgrading to a 9.6v?

Tightbore will give you MAYBE 5 FPS. A TB does way, way more for accuracy.

Is that an m120 in an mp5 that chronies at 400?

I did that recently:

prometheus MS100SP
reinforced sector gear
shims+metal bushings

a stronger string needs a bigger capacity battery- you need a bigger voltage only if you want to keep or improve the rate of fire.

Do I need to modify anything if I change to a higher capacity battery?

Mine has:

s90 spring
G&P M120 high speed motor
8.4v 3600mAH battery
Tightbore 6.03

I get 320-340 fps with 1100 RPM. that should be more than enough for CQB

As long as the voltage is the same, no.
