Banana
Banana, I keep seeing this on the for sale forums?

It means that everything in the sale thread has been sold and the mods can move the thread to the sold section.

But not everyone got the message, some folks are still just saying "Sold"...as well as removing the prices.

Yeah the removing of prices etc, is not really being enforced.

What do you mean exactly? It's been 6 months, but you haven't been enforcing it but you will...like after the 1 year mark or something?

Why would someone remove the price when it's sold anyway? To mess with the market?
When my shit is sold, I just mark it as sold, or pending. Then I go add some banana when the transaction is complete on both ends.

We request that nothing be deleted from the ad, just the words "sold" or "spf" or the like added to indicate what is no longer available. The reason we ask you do not delete the prices is in case there is a dispute at a later date. We can ressurect the thread if needed to help with any investigation, which has happened.
By adding the word "banana" to the ad, you are indicating the entire contents of the ad have been sold and it is ok to "delete" the ad. Ads are not deleted, just archived in a protected area.

Sellers that do delete their sales thread will usually get a PM from me asking them to not delete anything in future sales thread. I would then undelete their post back to the original post.

in case of a dispute, cant you (as a mod) look at prior edits, so you can see the original post?

If this purpose of this rule is for disputes, and you as a mod can already see the original post, im sorta missing the link to why we need to keep the original post after its sold.
could someone fill me in on this? |

The reason for keeping the orginal post in the sold section is so people can get an idea of what items have sold for in the past.

No, the real purpose of this rule is to have a record of prices so that everyone can have an idea of how much to ask for something.
edit: this was meant for The Acer's question.
