Illuminated Tracer Mags

What do you guys think about these? I saw a few clips of these mags which basically illuminates your BB's. How do they compare with the tracer silencers?

tracer silencers will create brighter shots, especially on initial shots.

The tracer mags only work well for sustained full auto fire or for short bursts (or semi auto fire) with very little break between firing groups.

The reason why, is that although the round may get charged in the magazine, it still has to travel up the hop up feed tube, get chambered in the hop up chamber and potentially sit in there while you await another opportunity to shoot. In that time, the charge may have been reduced, which means the next fully charged shot you will see is the 4th or 5th shot, ASSUMING you fire all 4-5 shots within a very short period of time so that the BB retains the charge.

On the other hand, with a tracer silencer unit, the BB is charged the moment it leaves the muzzle for each shot and every shot. It will have maximum brightness this way, regardless of whether you have BBs sitting and waiting in the chamber or not.

Yup, TM tracers (and I assume all others) are negative threaded (TM standard), and CA guns are as well.

You can get it to fit positive threaded barrels with an adapter.

I can only recommend the TM one. I've never tried other brands, but I've never been a fan of buying copies, especially when it comes to electronics like this.

Best "bang for the buck" may be a clone, as it's obviously cheaper, but there is no guarantee it can keep up to high ROF setups, it may suck up more power, or the electronics may not be as durable.

Any retailers you would recommend that have the TM tracer silencer?

The SRC one is really nice, nice outer shell and comes with built in rechargeable batteries.

Me. I have one left. I have both the old version and the new version.

The new version was released just last summer and has been constantly flying hot off the shelves everywhere. I can never keep it in stock for long.

How much do you usually sell it for?

Silencers are restricted items, so no. Read the import faq.
