Yet another question!

As those of you that know me I am just full of questions. Ok got one more

I am looking at a side arm as I got some money from my old hobbies. Anyways...

I am not a fan of the GBB style guns, I am thinking about a revolver, looking at one current its a .357 mag HFC. Gun is stock. There is also a TM .357 mag for around the same price.

my question is what do you guys think would be the better performer. I do not care that it only holds 6 shots, You only need 1 BB to call someone out and its just a back up not my main method of dispatching the other team.

Thanks for your, what I know will be, quick and inteligent responses.

Few new questions P2

Please use properly descriptive thread titles from now on.

I assume in this context, your use of "mag" is actually a shorthand for "Magnum".

I'm not sure if you've seen a gas revolver in action before. If you haven't, I recommend searching through Youtube, just in case.

Not all gas revolvers hold only 6 shots. IIRC, TM holds 24 (4x6).

Finally, bear in mind that gas revolvers are significantly inferior to GBBs in terms of both power and accuracy. They're also harder to fix, and AFAIK, less durable regardless of whether TM or HFC made it.

Revolvers are -not- gaming guns. Their pretty much just for show pieces and to use as a show piece. If you intend on gaming then a GBB is the way to go.

May I ask why you do not want to go the GBB route?

Avoid the HFC revolvers like you were a 10 year old boy and they were Michael Jackson. Seriously. They're the worse pieces of garbage ever. Not worth the money. TM make good revolvers.

As was already mentioned, they're more for showpieces and plinking than gaming. Their performance isn't that great, parts aren't readily available, and they're rather difficult to fix. Not recommended at all if you're going for a sidearm...

Sorry for the bad title I will keep that in mind for the future.

Now why are GBB so Suprerior? just cause of the larger mags?

get either TM or Tanaka for a revolver. Both will serve you will. Tanaka has more experience in the revolver market and has been making them for a long time. They (Tanaka) also make a .357 as well. If you are REALLY intent on making it your primary sidearm. you can sink a lot of money into it and buy a FMU upgrade kit through a retailer later on.

Well, the fact that revolvers have all the cosmetic moving parts (cylinder that swings out, hammer) results in gas system designs that are significantly more complicated and less beefy than GBBs. And yes, GBBs have greater gas capacity as well.

I certainly understand the desire to field something different. You just have to ask yourself if it's worth giving up a good chunk of functionality in return.

So are all HFC side arms bad or just there revolvers?

I got about $250 to spend right now. its a side arm so it really only needs one mag. there are a few in the classifides that I have my eye on.

What should I look for/stay away from when looking at GBB or revolvers?

Is KJW any good *I think thats the name*

Get a sawed off break barrel shotgun for a side arm.

HFC BAD, KJW Good. A friend of mine has had 3 hfc's 2 gbb, 1 revolver, fall apart on him before he could even game them. (springs loose springyness really fast)

I'd say stay away from revolvers, period. Avoid them until you have all the gaming guns you need, then worry about them.

HFC is hit or miss, mostly because of poor QC and workmanship.

KSC (also available as KWA) make some of the most widely fielded, gameable pistols.

Personally, for a first pistol, I recommend going with the KISS principle and getting some sort of TM Hi-Capa (or clone).

HFC are a low end budget company. You can't really expect much out of any of their guns. Many tend to be problematic. But they do have some models that are better than others. Their M11 machine pistol GBB is actually quite good, as is their Mauser Broomhandle. Their Glock seems to be not bad either, plus it's TM compatible, so parts are readily available. But I'd just avoid them over something better.

And yes, KSC make excellent guns all around. My KSC Glock 17 is the most badass pistol I've shot to date. Anyone who's shot it or been on the receiving end knows it can outrange some AEGs on the field. It's a crazy accurate gun with excellent range, and all stock internally except for a tightbore barrel.

now I am seeing alot of 1911's and glocks. Is there a certain clock model that tends to shine?

I would love a hicapa but they are out of my price range. I got $250 in my paypal and would rather put it into airsoft instead of transfering it to my bank account. lol

The KJW Hi-Capas with the transparent grip should be within your budget.

There are a couple reviews in the Review section.

Check 007 (if you're out West) or Mach1 or Velocity Arms (if you're out East).
