New to the sport a few questions about gun types

Hi, I'm pretty new to this sport, live in Ottawa, I have seen a few videos on you tube about Airsoft , I was hooked !! Anyhow after a little bit of research I decided on buying JG SG 552 from shootsoft.com , I failed to see that they have two separated ads that sell sig 552, one says Jing Gong 552 and has FPS rated at 350-370 , and a 350 bb Mag. (this is the one i just purchased) the other ad on the site says SIG Sauer 552 does not mention Jing Gong, has FPS 330 and 300bb MAG.
I have tried to contact Shootsoft.com but it's the holidays right now so no recponce yet, hope they can clearify this to me.
my question to you is has anyone here purchased the Jing Gong Sig 552 advertised gun from their site and if so what Brand was it? *swiss arms or Navy Seal? or something else?, seems there are a few different models for sale now in canada.
I'm going to conact a Airsoft smith located here in Ottawa in order to be age varfied, seeing I'm 43 I don't forsee any difficulties
Anyhow nice to meet ya'll , be shootin ya.

If its an actual Jing Gong then it should be alright. Their are TM compatible (AFAIK) and would be a good starter gun. Mind my asking how much you paid after all the fun stuff like shipping? Not to rain on your parade, but it might have been better if you waited until you got Age Verified and got a gun from the classifieds here. Probably would have gotten a better gun for a better price. But thats just me.

Welcome aboard!

Gun price

I payed 280.00 cnd after all is said and done, I also ordered from Ebay a Folding tactical Foregrip for 14.99 +shipping (Hong kong) and also Knight type Flash Hider 6.99 + shipping (australia), and a bag of double polished white bbs from airloft.com
Ya I know I got ripped ! prices in the states are much lower, and lower still in Japan and China. I guess it's a matter of supply and demand,
once i'm age varified , i'll be looking for a 750-$1500 range wep. prob ICS or TM can't wait!

no you didn't get ripped.... cause you can't legally get those guns from the US, if you ever did well should have gotten a lottery ticket.

and if you have that much money might as well consider a high end gun
like VFC or go systema (sorry for spelling).

I'd recommend ICS over Systema any day of the week. At least ICS can handle ambient humidity.

I was thinking ICS because it comes apart easy in a few secs/ mins. solid Gear, I can always upgrade with a few better parts later.
I picked the JG SIG 552 because of the good reveiws and it looks nice ! good first wep. And I'll be painting this with my airbrush to look like the real one

I forsee you sleeping on the couch in the near future if you are married and tell your wife you just bought a Systema PTW....

Best to stick to a few lower priced guns then move up, then you can have an armoury although it's more expensive if you play your cards right you won't be sleeping on the couch.

well after alot of reading on the posts, I have found that Shootsoft.com averages 15 days for delivery, that Lagros is a nice guy, that the items may not always be what you might be waiting for (condition, different model, electric charger being 220v, so so ) and for the most part problems were resolved with the buyer left smiling.
So wait I will, trigger finger itchy..twitchin till it gets here.......
