Trade it away, or upgrade all the way?

Hello everyone, I'm looking for some advice, just anything that could help me decide what I'm about to ask.

So lately, I've been thinking of selling my M4 and buy a L96 sniper rifle. I don't know if it's a noob thing or something, but I've always got a thing for snipers.

I'm in a team that plays a lot of indoor games, but none outdoor, so if I get a sniper rifle, I wouldn't be able to play indoor anymore! Which is why my team is rejecting my idea. Sure I know it's not up to them, but I enjoy playing with them.

I personally like outdoor game more, but no one from my team ever go play with me. I also heard that stock sniper rifles aren't that useful at all because of the lack of range. Without any upgrade it's like using an AEG, is that true?...

The reason why I don't like my M4 is because of the lack of range and the lack of ability to play outdoor, also it's too common. I went to battlefield 5 this year, there were about 80 players and about 40 of them had m4/m16s. Which to me seems so boring...

So here's my question, should I trade my M4 for a well L96 sniper rifle and spend the money I saved up on a pistol so I could play indoor, or should I just spend the money I've saved up upgrading my M4?

This is really killing me... So any advice would be awesome!...

That would be a huge noob mistake.

Keep the AEG and make it unique... I don't mean externally either. Make it shoot better than anyone else's gun.. and people will know that gun

Get an m16 or spr if u want a longer rifle and u can still have the benefits or get an m16 length inner barrel and silencer to put on ur m4 for when you play outdoor

bad move. getting an underpowered BA to play indoors with AEG's is going to frustrate you and piss you off. even with everyone else on semi only, it's going to be tough. maybe you need to change your choice of sniper rifle to DMR?

looks like you need to find a different team rather than a different gun. keep the AEG. upgrade bits you can afford. eventually you could build an outdoor front end to swap or go balls out and upgrade to an spr or m16 length with the internals to go with it. this could possibly be cheaper than getting a sub par BA and then have to upgrade it to compete with AEG's that will easily out range the stock L96 you want.

And at the same time, it doesn't really matter if you go to games without your team. There's a lot of players, including some of the "Ancient" (lol) that are "freelance" players.

So for your gun, assuming it's a decend company, I'd also advice an upgrade. Maybe you could look in the classifieds if there's another AEG that's "rare" enough for you?

You should also know that one of the great points of the M4 platform is the customizability you can get with it. You can really personnalize it a lot, from receìvers to front end, stock and even motor cover plates, so maybe look at others builds to get an idea?

Just do a multiple inner barrel set up: 1 long one(590mm tightbore) for outdoor range, and a smaller less than stock or however you want your indoor setup, mine is about 340mm. All you need now is a full cylinder, silencer or however you want to attach to your outer barrel to cover the extended barrel, and then upgrade internals as desired.

There is a trick here, my SPR runs 390FPS for my 590 barrel outside, but without changing anything other than the inner barrel to short length, I drop about 100FPS to about 300FPS for an indoor game. If you can figure out this trick, your good to go for both indoor and outdoor games without having 2 guns.

Renegade: That's probably because you didn't change your cylinder porting... That's pretty bad for your gun lol.

Yep, thats the trick. Some say its bad, extra stress, whatever, I say it hasnt caused a single issue in 2 years running my setup, even with the drastic FPS drop with the short barrel, I still get very good range, and very consistant shots.

Keep your M4, purchase a tightbore barrel for it. That will help with the outdoor play.

keep your ar... upgrade a few parts...ie barrel, spring and bushings... then wait a bit, collect some coins and get yourself a money pit sniper rifle later on.... best of both worlds

Thanks guys, I keep my M4 only if you guys help me figure out some upgrades! Hehe... Well, you don't "have" to help, but it'd be nice.

What's the difference between M4A1 and M16A2? And what's the "A1" and "A2" means?

Because I've been looking for parts, and almost every site I went to, m4 parts are always out!!!... Same with the 6.03/4 inner barrels!..

So here's what I'm thinking of ordering:
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1105
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=599

OR

I don't know how to link the page from WGC so here's what it is:

Item number
GD-PT-GE0341 Guarder Cylinder Enhancement Set for Marui M16A1 / VN

KM-AEP15M4N KM 6.04mm TN inner barrel for SOPMOD M4 , M4A1 , XM177 , SG551 ( 365mm )

Help....~~~...

Thanks...

M4 is basically just a shortened version of the M16. There are a lot of things to wrap your head around.

The difference between M16A1 vs A2 is basically the hand guard. Other versions (A4) have a flat top for optics.

You can have a lot of different options for the AR-15. From front wired PEQ boxes, to MOD stocks, to iron sights. It's a lot of stuff to understand.

What you should really do is break it down and figure out what you want.

Body: Flat top or iron sight/carry handle
Front end: Rails or regular handguard
Ironsight: What kind do you want? There are a lot of different iron sights available from a lot of companies.
Barrel length: 10.5", 14.5", 20"?
Stock: Crane, MOD, full?
Accessories: PEQ, flashlights, tracer unit, suppressor etc.

M4 and M16 in airsoft only means a difference in barrel length and the type of stock (some times not even).
The A annotation you can think of as different versions; each with slight modifications that may be beneficial or detrimental depending on your personal preferences. (eg stuff like a detachable carrying handle).
Since you're buying a M16 length barrel for an M4, you'll need to get either a longer outer barrel with the matching longer handguard, or you can do it the easy way and get a silencer.
Depending on the brand of your current gun, you can just get a non-ported cylinder, and not the whole set.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Well, I'd figure, evenually I'll need to upgrade the whole internal, so why not buy the whole set and just get it over with in one shot, eh?

I'm planning to keep my gun looking like as stock as possible. So that means just all regular parts(other than internal). Maybe a scope that can be added to my handle. For sight, I'm keeping the triangle front and handle back.

So what you mean is the "A" behind their name is just for external means? So if I get the internal stuff that says "M16A2" for my "M4A1" it'll still work?

My plan is to get a m16 length for outdoor and m4(shorty) for indoor(there's too many damn corners for where I play).

Thanks.
