Section 8
I made a thread a few months ago when I first joined this forum about them. They listed prices as $0, and I was thinking it was some 'too good to be true' thing. A lot of you told me it was probably just poor business practice for 'out of stock'. I inquired them about the real prices by phone and they were not even sure about the prices, and the receptionist seemed hesitant to give me straight answers on anything. The fact that they didn't have an internet credit card payment and they wanted me to give them my credit card number through the phone was a big red flag for me. Well, I like snooping around websites to see any updates. The site was down for a few months I believe. A notice said they were down for maintenance. Now, they are back up, and the prices say
'Inquire for details'/'Call for pricing'. Would this mean they would try and haggle for a price attempting to rip you off? Or could it just be a scam entirely where someone foolish enough to pay is ripped off and they shut down for a few months at a time. I was curious if this retailer even had a presence here. Thoughts or comments? http://www.section8sports.ca/ Last edited by knightoice; October 1st, 2009 at 04:05.. |

After quickly looking around their site, They have TONS of guns listed. I would be shocked if that actually had all of those in stock. Especially since they are a store no one has ever heard of.

Hopefully some of the local guys in the area can go check it out and provide us some feed back.
Im fairly certain they do not stock all that they list. I was just reading through their Liability and waiver page. http://www.section8sports.ca/liability-a-waiver Quote:

It's registered to Mitch Kano. Weird how a public, full black retailer just pops up out of Lethbridge.

Its possible that they could have existed as a paintball retailer prior.

He isn't trying to hide who he is, so I wouldn't say he is sketchy, but maybe the business part is sketchy as retailing full black airsoft is kinda not legal

Actually that place is legitimate.
AFAIK They used to sell black guns however at this point in time they mostly deal with Can/Clearsoft. They sometimes get in a few black guns though. They're not the greatest retailer. The markups are extreme and the quality of what they sell is kind of really crap. (eg. My buddy bought a bottle of "Firepower" .25's for like $15 +tax and they chopped in his PTW and misfed in my AEG). Then we couldn't play in the game coming up in 2 days with our primaries, we had to run with our GBB's and springers. Also they actually were a paintball store first they just decided to carry some airsoft on the side. They also have a branch in Taber or Med Hat or something IIRC.

So it's just that their business practices of saying they have full black guns to sell to civilians is sketchy? Oh ok.

They do seem to have non-clear guns with prices. Their CYMA FAMAS is only like $273. (Some of their other guns have prices.)
I'm sure this is too good to be true somehow. Maybe some kind of long shipping time or something.

The prices seem decent until you see the name "CYMA". :P
