I really don't know but I'd assume you'd need some sort of quasi-military team structure (ie. Team leader, rifleman, gunner, DMR, sniper, etc.). Identical uniforms (maybe not but then people will know you're on the same team when you roll in together wearing the same thing), probably some sort of name tape patch that says "TEAM CHINESE" to put above your name tape.
Really though you're kind of already a "team" in a sense since you play together and hopefully people know that you guys roll together.

Literally as said above, matching uniforms will mean you and your teammates will play together, that's all a team really is at a basic level, and your trusting your boys, knowing how they'll react for various situations. You don't NEED to designate ranks or support, sniper, etc. but you can if you like.

Also you can do a design and have some patches made, this is the service I use, but there are many available http://www.colorpatch.com/
Since you are in montreal, you can go to the Marché aux Puces 5 étoiles, they have an embroidery machine there and can do you patch directly. If you need help with the design let me know, I can probably make one for you guys. |

You already have a team... You all have the Same BDU, you all have the same variant of AEG ( Armalites ) and you are all chinese... The only thing left is to find a name, and maybe an idea of what your team is, and built upon that.. And find yourself some rank and some specialty for your players. EX : MEdic, Support gunner, sniper, etc. EX : A mercenary group that left china and went working as contractor for us military. Keep up the goog work. |

No.... that's actually me wearing a suit and sunglasses over the background a mountain.
Seriously though, yeah it is.... Hung Hing boys for life! Plus having a callsign like "Chicken Chiu" is pretty badass (IMO). (I haven't been called that yet but it would be pretty awesome to be known as Chicken) Also with the rank structure thing just don't take it too far. I was thinking along the lines of "too many bakers ruins the cake but having no head patissier to lead and guide the bakers just leads to chaos".

LOL @ young and dangerous, Chicken was my favourite character as well hehe
OP, start with matching bdu's and them source name tapes and patches from butlerpatches or 1800nametapes, if you all order together you will save on costs by buying in bulk most importantly practice together as much as possible and thengo over what needs to be improved afterwards later on, look into having a standard weapon loadout so that you can share mags in the field

Its not so much creation as its more really like giving birth, bloody, painful, frustrating, expensive and when it reaches maturity, the offspring ultimately eats the parent.

I'd say, cut the bullshit. Get together, find a team orientation, a name and have some patchs mades if needed.
IMO, no need for ranks or pseudo specialities. The fluf come later when you all have the image you want to portray. In example, in the MTX, we don't have official ranks. We have a team founder: Mud, and that's it. As for specialities, every members have a role that he does best and usually, his weapon platform reflect it. But if that member deside to play assault or sniper for one game, we won't mind. Our team uniform reflect the role we want to play in milsims: We want the flexibility to play on both sides, so we opted for a plain OD uniform for outside and a Subdued Urban Digital for inside. Both camo are not official military camo paterns in mainstream country, so we have a flexibility that, let's say, CADPAT would not give us. We still keep the possibility to play with other camo, depending on what the members has. Starting a team is not complicated, you just has to show some uniformity.

Pick a theme (Camo / nation)
Have people who'd be interested buy the set camo. You'll grow from there. This year, I started a Russian team here in Manitoba. We started with 4 in April. We now have 11 members. Dont bother with patches. They don't make you a team. Being uniformed with people you normally play with does.

The patch is just a scan from mine to give you an example. You could use a round patch, I prefer shields however. Last edited by BrokenBird; October 8th, 2009 at 15:26.. |
