Would like imput before purchase.
I am cuurently scratch building a KA Vltor M4, I am almost finished and am just buying some last pieces. I have to choose a inner barrel and i was told good things about Promethius, but other people have told me its not worth the cost. I also need a good hop up rubber, I usually use Guarder Clear but am also asking opinions seeing as I've already dropped over 1K on this thing a few more bucks on a good hop up is no biggie. Oh and a bucking too.

Promtheus 6.03 + Prometheus soft hop up rubber
plus wash the hop up rubber with dish detergent before use. Perfect combination right there, whoever says Prometheus isn't the way to go lacks proper experience. |

Its wasn't that Prometheus is not a good product, bit that you could find products just as good for half the price. And you would suggest soft bucking from them, over a Guarder Clear? Could you explain a bit why?

The guarder clear is less consistent on the "grab" of the BB. This is mainly because it lacks consistent shot to shot friction compared to Systema or Prometheus. The lack in consistency will result in your shots veering off in a more unpredictable way. It's also made out of silicone material, they are softer and more prone to ripping as well as absorbing BB residue(When the BB shoots out). This will also affect the accuracy/consistency. In addition, this is also the reason why I have never "washed" the Guarder Clear hop up rubber. I was afraid it may absorb the dish detergent as well as the fear of ripping it. To be honest, the only "good" product for half the price is probably Systema hop up rubber. These have some serious friction to them if you wash it properly. The only reason I always go Prometheus is because it also has airseal features(Fatter lip). I'm quite unbiased when I choose an internal part to put inside my gun, so I have tried quite a few products as far as accuracy and internal goes(TM, guarder, G&P, Systema, Prom, KA, Firefly... etc). In the end, Prometheus also worked the best and most consistently. I came to this conclusion after personally trying out countless brands. Last edited by Skladfin; October 17th, 2009 at 22:19.. |
