Advice on dealing with Evike
I placed an order with Evike back in mid-November not realizing how much of a crappy online retailer they are. My order was quite small (2 rail risers and a stock saddle). After the order was paid for and processed I was told that one of the items in my order was out of stock and placed on back-order. I was given an ETA of a week or so until the item was back in stock. Well two weeks passed by and I sent an email to touch base on my order and they said the item that was on back-order was just clearing customs and should be sent out to me in a week (that should have been about the first week of Dec.).
I'm starting to worry if I'll ever receive my order now. Should I threaten to cancel my order and demand a full refund? Or should I just keep waiting? Please help.

Another Evike horror story =T
How did you pay? When was the last time they contacted you? |

I paid via PayPal and the last time they contacted me was Dec. 23. I asked them for an update on the ETA for my order and if I will receive a tracking number. They didn't answer my first question and simply said I would receive a tracking number when it is shipped.

It seems you ordered pretty recently, if so then open a Paypal dispute ASAP, only way to get them to move their ass and ship out your stuff otherwise you can say goodbye to your money or a possibility of getting your stuff with a lot of headache.
With US players they kind of get hit and miss service, anyone outside of the US gets shit service pretty much.

There's a whole thread about Evike horror stories. Due diligence, man.
I'd open a Paypal dispute and get a refund. Nothing is worth dealing with these fools.

I just emailed this to their sales dept.:
"Hello, It has been about three weeks now since you said one of my items was clearing customs and said it would take about week for it to be finally shipped to me. Since I haven't received any tracking information I'm going to assume that it hasn't been shipped yet. I'm sorry it has to come to this but I've heard too many horror stories regarding your service. As a result, I'm going to need a satisfactory update regarding my order or I will be opening a dispute with PayPal to get my money back. Thanks," Hopefully this will get something done.

I would just go ahead and open a dispute. No sense in wasting anymore time. Before you open the dispute however, make sure you have a copy of all transactions between you and Evike as well as any communication through email or otherwise. You may also want to formulate a paragraph or two describing what has happened and your current situation in as much detail as you can but still be concise and to the point.
Good luck. |

I'll give them until Monday before I open a dispute. I'm giving them a chance because they are selling something I want and I think they are the only retailer of it.

Back in the day, I made such a mistake. After about a month of no contact, no replies, no order processing, I opened up a PayPal dispute stating that I didn't get what I paid for and they they weren't responding. After a week of getting no reply to the dispute, PayPal refunded me.

Don't wait to open a dispute, its not just a misunderstanding on Evikes part. They make a choice to delay or even just refuse to send out orders. In fact open a dispute and elevate it to a claim right away since they have shown no interest in delivering what you've paid for. And then stay away from them.
