best or favourite knife kill...
Hey all,
I'd like to hear about your best or favourite knife kill story. Down in southern Sask, we have minimum engagement rules as all our games are played outdoors; A surrender rule, when you feel you're too close to safely fire at someone in close range. A knife kill rule, where if you can successfully touch someone during a game... My favourite knife kill was done during a game in a wooded and over-grown area we call Vietnam :P. We were playing plague where we all start out as singles and when you’re shot, yell hit, and you can be tagged back in by anyone, then you join with the one who tagged you. We started in the staging area, spread out from there... and at safe distance, we sound ready. I was making my way through a high grass and high cat tailed area, very, very thick area; and so it ended up where I was pinned down in the middle of 2 groups, 2 guys to the south and 4 guys to the north and I was by myself. I slowly moved toward the group to the north thinking that I would have a better chance to try to take out someone from the larger group than the 2 guys from the south. I made my way to the direct center of both groups where I minimized my movement and waited for an opening to pop up and make my shot. The group of 4 came in and I was getting ready to fire, then they group decided to change course and started heading east, instead of the north to south path they were in. I decided to re-engage so I moved from my position slowly to the east to cut them off and get my shot. I started to move while listening to the group to the south and tracking the group to my north. All the sudden I heard the south group and they were within 2 meters of my position... “Shit!” I remained where I was until I was sure I knew where the south group was. The north group must have heard the south group also, because they changed their march to the east back to the south. There I was in the middle of the 2 groups and the north group opened up on the south group. The fire fight was fast and furious, and then a guy from the north group was hit. “Awesome!” I thought. I poked up and fired a couple shots at the north group, missing my target. The north group started to come in to my position and I moved a little closer to the south group who was still firing at the north group. I decided that it would be best for me to stay put and wait to see what the outcome of the firefight would be. I didn’t have to wait long... I was on my knee when I heard one guy from the south group making his move. He bolted! I fell to my back and he came sailing into the area I was in. He jumped to clear the grass and I reached up and grabbed him from mid air, pulled him to the ground and said “Knife kill.” He yelped! And the look on his face was pure terror; he wasn’t expecting me to be there and definitely wasn’t expecting to be pulled from the air. I rolled him over to his back and I tried to burry my face in my arm because I could not stop laughing. Well he wouldn’t shut up about the kill after that and needless to say with his blabbing and my laughing they gauged our area and killed us... |

We were playing amoeba at a local field last summer, late spring. It was after dark, but there was still enough light to manuver by. I'm standing by this tree, trying to figure out what's happening to my left. I hear a 'plop' behind me, remember thinking to myself... "That sounded just like a rubber knife hitting the ground!". Turned around to take a look, heard a yell from over my left shoulder, followed by the sound of running feet. Turned back to see this black shape pelting through the bush towards me. Was too busy thinking "No Way!" to acutally shoot, and he tagged me the old fashioned way. When we both stopped laughing, we went to look for his knife...

We called up the boys to play (which ended up being the last game of the 2009 season), and only 4 showed. Down here, that’s pretty much typical, and we usually end up doing drills and such; but we decided to play with the guys we had. We split into 2 groups of 2 and decided we do a hide and hunt scenario. We were playing in a grassy, wooded area called the “L”; because if viewed from over-head, it would look like an “L”.
So the other 2 went off and my teammate and I waited for the “Ready” call. They called ready and we headed out. We decided to cut straight across the open field and head to the top point of the “L” to cut them off or to at least draw them back into the bottom corner of it. We made our way to the top point, constantly scouting for their position. The open field happened to have a slight ridge which gave us cover as we progressed to the top point. We crested the ridge and took a knee to see if we could spot someone from the other group. We spotted one of the guys in the bottom corner of the “L” to our south. He was making his way to our infill as he didn’t spot us, so we didn’t bother with him and proceeded to crest the incline and get a better recce of the AO. We moved up, I spotted the other target and we went prone back to the ridge. We quickly discussed a flanking manoeuvre and decided that my teammate make his way north to the top of the “L” and establish diversionary contact with the target. Since the target was facing south; my teammate made his way north to his rear flank. Although out of range, he created the diversion I needed to move in on the target. I rescanned the AO to determine the whereabouts of the other target, when I was unable to see him I proceeded to crest the ridge. Galil at my shoulder and bead on the target I swiftly and silently came in for the kill. The firefight between the target and my teammate was still in progress as I made my way in. I was getting closer and closer, finally I was close enough for a “surrender” so I lowered my rifle. I continued in, hoping that the target wouldn’t acknowledge my presence. I kept a constant stride, within a meter and I raised my arm and slapped him on the back. “Knife kill!” I proclaimed as he jumped back and yelped and said “Where the heck did you come from?” I burst out laughing and my teammate came running over laughing also. The target was shaken and didn’t know what happened. I explained that he was dead and he burst out laughing too. After everyone was calmed down, we left the dead be and proceeded to track and kill the last target. |

I have 2 favorites.
My first and move favorite knife kill was during a yearly newbie camp that is held in Sask. My squad was tasked to defend a small slope covered in heavy brush. All we had to do was give them a little bit of resistance and then retreat. I had elected to get up close and personal so I went down and hid in the area that I knew that the enemy would be taking up position in and firing upon us from. I laid down next to a sizable pile of logs and stayed perfectly still. The assaulting group had moved in and taken up positions everywhere around me and had commenced firing upon my squad mates. I had formulated in my mind exactly what I could do in regards to taking down as many as possible however we were told to only provide minimal resistance. There was one player who I will not name, situated on the other side of the small log pile where I was hiding, shooting away at my squad. Eventually I sat up and poked him with my rubber knife. The look on his face to this day still warms my black heart. My second favorite is that we were tasked to defend a small area again, an we were being confronted from the north and east sides. I dropped my entire kit minus my knife and an m9 with 5 rounds. Ran down to small wall to the south where we were taking fire from two people in the bush to the east. Leaped over the wall and used it as cover till I could move to a position where I could shoot. Popped up shot them both shooters to the east, flanked 6 or 7 man assault group that was attacking us from the north. Went to fire my pistol and realized that I had expended the only 5 shots I had taking out the first two. So I knifed them all and was then friendly fired by my own team.

The kill itself wasn't epic but the fact I killed some camper with his own weapon made me feel great. He was camping at the top of that hill/cliff thing on quarry and when I managed to kill him I then picked up his gun and went off looking for other people. Anyway being a typical camper he goes right back to the same spot and camps again so I snuck up on him, shot him at point blank range then tea bagged him for good measure.
I enjoyed it very much. |

I've only had 1 "knife Kill" since its very hard in my opinion to get so close but I have mercy kills every game but getting close just this 1 time my team of 4(ish) inc myself were just taking on another team of 4 and we had a pretty urban spot but not much cover that gave us great range, so I moved up into the end they came from behind this stack of wood with a plywood cover over the top and sides so I hid behind that and was watching my left then I noticed that this guy was really suppressing our team cause I hear his gun just going every second and I knew it was nearby and as he walked by I poked him with my gun and said SHHH then he freaked and shot me in the face 5 times and sec i'll edit with the pic I took.
This was at night in -20 weather, guns didn't break. (prolly was bad for them though) that was after I washed it and it stopped bleeding(mostly) I had a 1 inch puffed spot from it for a few days.

Not done by me (I think it was Donster). We were at wasaga (blackhawk town), and buddy was in the big bunker. A guy on the other team is sneaking up to the door.. all of a sudden this knife comes spin-flying out and hits the guy in the chest. It was awesome.

Being a long range BA shooter I tend not to do too many indoor or CQB type game, but a couple years ago, one of the guys on my team mentioned that a new field was opening up in the North Etobicoke/Mississauga area......on the eve of my wedding anniversary. Now as I said, I'm not a big one for CQB, however, the wife is, and that fact that the opening night prices at this new facility were very reasonable, we decided to spend the first part of our evening checking out this new facility.
So there I am, watching the wife have a blast, when at the start of a pistols only round I noticed one of the rookies I've seen before set up with no pistol, but rather two knives. Now I've seen this kid before, he's got a good head for tactics, and he's fast, frigging fast. Anyways, I call over a couple of the other players who are sitting the pistol round out and tell them to watch this. They're like "watch what?", and I said "just watch" pointing at this kid. Sure enough when the game starts, this kid bolts straight out for around 40 feet and then drops to his knees, sliding another 30 feet into a barrier located smack dab in the middle of the field. During which, two of the opposing team shooters were also moving up to the barrier, but neither hadn't noticed the kid with the knives move up because of his sliding maneuver...... and when the two of them went to do mag changes, this kid swept around one side of the barrier out of sight, only to quickly reappeared coming back around the other end of the barrier. During which time you could clearly hear "knife-itty, knife-itty!". Dude, I shook my head and howled. Both the guys behind the barrier stood up and look at each other dumbfounded. The kid continued to get another 5 knife kills or something like that before finally getting taken out. It was amazing. SHA DO
