It could very well be that you hear of plenty of 18+ yr olds doing stupid things, but in the end they're for one more likely to get a beating for it, and of course responsible for thier actions unlike a minor.

18+ isn't just so if something happens to a minor it's just as much for ppl being responsible for being the cause of anything that happens to anyone else due to thier ignorance.

The stupied thing about these rules is that I can join the reserves and fire real weapons at 16 yet I cant participate in a sport that involves people getting hit with plastic balls.

The stupid thing about this often repeated argument is that you do all this under direct supervision of legally responsible adults, and you dont own the weapons.
You missed the entire point, and you're not the first.

Two words; Legally Responsible.

Saying your mature doesnt mean shit. Really, when was the last time you ever heard anyone say "hi, my name is airsoftnewbie, in a minor and very immature, lookingforward to playing airsoft".

I'm under 18, I'm 15. I bought a spring "softair" pistol from Wal mart and have been playing around with it with my friends with their spring soft air weapons, clear see through.

I still treat it as dangerous weapons and always make sure to wear eye protection and facial protection. I was planning on making a buy into a more serious airsoft weapon until having a chat with Droc on MSN, someone who knew my cousin from school, and having noticed me on the boards added me. He's talked the sense into me and I wont invest another penny into airsoft until I'm legal age, because I know the danger and why you've installed the 18+ rule.

Well seeing as I've wanted to play ever since playing with this little spring pistol, and now that I understand I cant until I'm older, I'm really not in the mood to ruin it for anyone else, since it would ruin it for me as well when I am 18 to play. :smack:

"Playing around"... be careful; that can put you into tons of shit. Only play in authorized areas.

Technically he also missed that he can shoot real guns and kill animals at a younger age than 16... But hey who's keeping track, huh?

Been there, done that. Isnt as much as a thrill as playing against real humans with moderatly realistic weapons.

Man, im underage, and I look up to people like greylocks and droc. Fuck, people, just wait untill you are 18, you have a whole bleeding live in front of you and 18 is only what? 1-2 years away for most people. If, at your age, you have soo much time on your hands to deal with school AND airsoft, just join the freeking cadets and wait a year or two, its not the end of the world.

My self I struck a deal with my parents, I wait untill im 18, but im allowed to build up my gear, so when I do get a airsoft gun, I already am ready and can start playing.

Who was complaining, mate? I'm all down with waiting, and I've been thinking of building up my gear too, anywho.

im 20 and ive waited this long to play airsoft, i even own many real steels, and after a year or more of reading and researching many forums, borrowing guns from friends, playing games and seeing if im ready for this sport, i am finally ready to purchase my first airsoft gun. so waiting hasnt been a big deal for me. i also agree that some younger kids are responsible and some older guys are irrisponsible, but if there was no age limit on the sport we'd have alot more problems than we do already. at least that my perspective on things. 8)
