My apologies. I had thought it was metal, but had been told otherwise from a somewhat reliable source. I have been unable to confirm this as of yet. I suppose the main point being that once properly painted, the fact that the upper receiver is made of plastic does in no way affect the solid feel and overall perception of this particular model.

To add to what KND said about the piston, yes, to some it may be better to have a plastic-toothed piston for the reasons he stated. However, I have experience with both where there have been positive results using steel toothed pistons. I have one in my MP5 and it has performed beautifully for a number of years running on Lipos.

That said, it is still a risk. A $20 piston is cheaper than a full gear set, especially with a mechbox that is so easy to work on.

Checked the ROF: 19 RPS with an 11.1v Lipo and M100 spring (which is slightly weaker than the stock spring), after it was gamed last week at TTAC3. I'm going to charge it up and see what the difference is. But 19 RPS is still quite decent.

Excellent review, I agree on the piston though, I had to replace mine a few weeks ago. When I opened up the gear box there was yellow plastic all over the gears and the piston teeth had been ground flat. I replaced it with a piston that has rear metal teeth and it works like a dream. Thanks again for the review.

I have NEVER yet had a double-fire or a misfeed, or jam through the gun, using the OEM high-cap or TM mid-caps.

I have had only 1 shot drop off quickly coming out of the gun, out of well over 750 rounds through the gun.

The highcap mag has a springloaded baffle that keeps the BB's pushed toward the feed wheel of the magazine, which is nice because the BB's don't rattle around inside while you move. Though the magazine will fire all 300 rounds on a single winding (if done properly), what does frequently happen is that sometimes the BB's don't line up just right going into the feed wheel. When this happens, the feed wheel has no BB's in it to keep tension, and so the spring completely unwinds, making a sound that makes you think you just stripped your piston, LOL. The best way to reduce this happening is to keep tapping or slapping the magazine to keep the BB's moving forward properly.

I recently picked up the CA90 TR and so far I am having major acuracy problems. even with the extended inner barrel i cant hit a pop can from 30 feet away. U can c how this extreamly frustrating, especialy when my oponents have extreamly accurat guns. Iv never seen another P90 in action, but i asumed when i bought it that the bbs wher soposed to fly in the ditection you point the gun. instead i get about 2 seconds of compleatly random spray before any kind of consistancy is produced. this is my first pro gun and i feel like im missing vital details. wtf.

This should be in the Doctor's Corner not in a review...... But seeing as I'm trying not to freakout on beginners, here's what I suggest you do.

1) Adjust your hop up
should be a trap door underneath the gun's handle that reveals it. Turn right or left till it is shooting straight or hitting a consistant spot on the target. This is what I have a feeling is your problem, try this, if nothing works then.... proceed to the next steps

2) DO NOT USE ANY walmart or canadian tire bbs. They are horrible quality and will destroy the guns internals. Use bbs from Velocity Arms, BB Bastards, etc, (May have to get Age Verified to see certain sections for bbs. Just do some research on google or on the forums about good bbs)

Well, I took a look at the silencer itself and found some wear around the inner edges. So i took it off and fired off a clip of mad bulls, which are the same BBs iv been using the whole time. I was pleased with the results as i hit consistently in both semi and full auto at about 50 feet. Im gona take her out for a few games and see how it does without the silencer at longer ranges.

I had this issue with mine too Jamo. The silencer on mine isn't 100% lined up to the inner barrel unless you screw it on and off a few times to kind of find the "sweet spot" first get your hop up nice and straight then just try removing and replacing the silencer a few times until everything is nice and flush and the inner barrel is straight inside the silencer.

Nice review, can one of you tell me the length of the longer barrel, i bought the silcencer of someone from my area who bought this gun, i had no idea that you needed a longer inner barrel(actually i didn't know much about airsoft at the time)and i would like to buy a longer inner barrel to accomadate the silencer on my 552

Just bought this gun.

Pros : Awesome look, great ROF, decent trigger respond, easy to mod

Cons : small battery compartment, noise from the cocking lever spring each shot, magazine(but I changed it to m4 magazine)


My question, I can hear the sound of shaking spring on each shot from the cocking lever, is there anyway that I can fix it? or do you guys also hear them?

get a better spring guide (w/ bearings) and also piston w/ bearings

I dont hear that spring when I fire !

the spring he means is the one for the cocking lever...the <<spring guide>> is the inner barrel

fricking piston teeth broke on me after about 300-600rd though it...

quick reminder for new buyer, get better after market piston.
