I always thought the kit works for both type mags.

I have both M4 and PDW mags. I prefer the metal body and larger capacity of the M4. Some parts of my PDW mags body cracked or chipped off already.

I'm pretty sure the kit is for both type of mags... If you check the conversion kit for the PDW here it says "Feeding Lips Assembly for PDW / M4 Magazines" and if you compare both kit they sell here and here, they look pretty much identical.

Ok so there are different types but the feed lips are the same. Both the pdw style and the m4 metal style use the m4 version so I'm assuming as u said they are interchangeable but just to e safe I'll go with the m4 style that's currently in use on my gun.

the mag feed lips are the same across the m4, 416, pdw, and scar, but the kits are designed with the rest of the rifle in mind. So the pdw kit will ONLY work with the pdw, SCAR with the SCAR, m4 (not released, to my knowledge) with the m4.

the feed lips they come with are the same, but things like the front end (on pdw kit) and the bolts are different.

Ok I just received my WE PDW open-bolt kit so now I can answer for sure. There's a mag conversion kit for the PDW mag AND another for the M4 mag, both included in the kit! I'm guessing because alot of the WE PDWs were sold with both mags included...

ya but if u check the feed lips are the same - my pdw stock mag has the same feed lips assembly as all my m4 mags lol - i think they must be interchangable...

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a question and cant find any other threads that have info.

I am planning to purchase co2 mags for my WE PDW - Open Bolt, but was informed that they are SCAR mags.

would they be compatible with the WE PDW, or if a conversion would be required; if so what is required to convert them?

SCAR=M4=PDW

To put it plainly yes the PDW will fit scar and m4 mags.

As for conversion, either buy the mags open bolt ready, or you can convert your closed bolt mags. Check the RA TECH website.
