From my experience, G&G makes some of the weakest gears on the market. Even the gears on their "high end" guns are prone to stripping even before the piston gets a chance to. You should downgrade the FPS if you want it to last for as long as possible.

Actually, I did just that. The gun is now shooting 400fps with .25's and around 440 with .2's. That way I'm within field limits and also keeping some stress off my gun.

Actually, when I said downgrade, I was thinking more along the lines of 400 FPS or less on .2s. I would not trust the stock innards for anything higher than 400 FPS. Keep us updated on how well your gun performs at the current FPS.

Glad you are enjoying the gun Neved!! Do know you have some pretty good range with it!! If you do have an issue let me know, know a great gun doc local to me that did some work recently for me. Highly recommend him!! You do need to get good optics on the gun... Oh wait if I am on the other team I want you to be shooting over iron sights!!

LOL Don't you worry, I picked up a nice 3x9 power scope! I will be shooting accurate now!

Got hit by it a couple of weeks ago. Stings a bit, but not enough to write home about.

Hey Guys, bit of a necro post but thought I'd give my two cents. A lot of the guys in our club here have been rocking g&g max guns with the downgrade spring and aside some some very minor issues (the buffer tubes screw in and can get a bit loose, and we've had to pinch the motor connectors a bit tighter) they've been great to use.
