Actually in some of the ICS guns it makes a HUGE difference. It help's stabilize the inner barrel in the too-wide outer barrel. Without it, the IB would move around more freely causing great inconsistency >.<

Do you have an ICS? I do.

The new single-piece barrels have it... and the place for it is cut from the tip of the barrel.

On older 3-pieces barrels, it was sometimes present. And again, it was cut from the tip.

I removed it from my current rifle because it was bending the inner instead of stabilise it.

Yup! The worst wobbe I've seen tho (without the spacer), is on the SIG-series tho. IBs should be as stationary as possible, but that thing about bending just sounds awful o.0 To me it would sounds like the something is misaligned, bent or badly manufactured.
