WE GBB mag question regarding "gas-ing up"

So your mag's floorplate should be facing up (so you can see the fill valve) and the propane bottle should be pointed downwards.

Pay close attention to the angle of the stem on the fill valve in relation to the nozzle on the adapter: you want them to be aligned, otherwise the nozzle won't press down and open the fill valve sufficient and only a small amount of gas will be transferred, resulting in a small handful of weak shots (what I suspect is happening now).

Something else to keep in mind is near-empty propane tanks have a hard time transfering their gas: unlike when the gas is being burnt off, once the mag starts filling up gas stops flowing when pressure equalizes between the canister and the mag. This too may result in only partial fills of your mag.

yes, when your first shot spill liquid vapour out. Typically over filling occur when the mag is cold

The mag is already cold when you fill it??? I don't understand your point.

When I fill my mags sometime I have massive leaking of gaz from the fill valve. Is that because the fill valve get frozen and it locks? What can I do to prevent that? more silicon oil on the fill valve? or in the gaz tank (dont like)?

A mag at room temperature is not a cold mag. If you did a mag dump of all your bb's you will feel the mag become noticeably cold. The vapour pressure in the cold mag is lower thus allowing more liquid propane to be filled than in a mag at room temperature. I believe this is what was meant by over filling.

if you are spilling liquid propane at the fill valve than either you are not filling properly or something is wrong with the valve (missing oring?). in either case, you will in short order freeze the fill valve.

No I will not explode ... The mag will just start to vent at one of the valves

Lol thanks coachster I forgot about the main seal ... Mine are all gasket sealed so I don't think about that one anymore

Don't use CO2 on WE guns. My experience with the CO2 M4 mags was horrific. Less FPS, no noticeable change in recoil. You see, it might be CO2, but the valve is a lot smaller, and much less amount of gas is used. As for it working better in cold temperature, that's BS; I've gamed propane mags at 35 ºF, just gotta watch the full auto (which I wouldn't use on a real cap gun anyway...). Had CO2 mags freeze almost instantly.

Also, I'd get the smaller, VN Style mags. They work MUCH better than the standard WE M4 mags (better FPS and recoil, consistency, gas capacity, less prone to leaking).
