Depends what you see your self doing.. or what you want. More realism, or more rounds/less maintenance
General consensus is get 1 AEG 1 GBBR, If you can fork the cash for the MK12 and M4 then I don't think you'd have a problem. I only play indoors, and use GBB's as temperature won't affect me indoors. My buddies use their WE/GHK's outdoors and have no issues during milsims / night ops as well. I personally enjoy the kick, and the round cap. Having your pick your shots made me a better shooter, rather then going trigger happy on an AEG, or when your mag is empty and you bolt lock, insert a fresh mag and letting that bolt go "home" is very satisfying. It's really personal preference, AEG triggers will never feel like GBB's (as close as you'll get to "RS") ... but AEG's don't have restrictions on 30/40 round mags, or temperature/gas affecting the mags / fps deviations. Also if you plan on working on your own gun, I personally find GBBs to be easier to work on. AEG's are like rocket science to me. Last edited by BioRage; September 13th, 2018 at 11:41.. |

Thanks!
Is there a marked difference between a GBBR and an electro recoil rifke? |

Yes, but get both. I have a GHK and a TM NGRS. I can't go back to normal AEGs. The kick makes your experience so much better, and also the muscle memory on the reload is a big deal. Consistency of having to hit the bolt stop on an AR15 is really important.

Squid Porn Superstar, I love the tentacles!

I remember you from WAYYYYY back.
TM is not king. TM AEGs are pretty shitty for today's standards. VFC M4s and LCT AKs are the best AEG base platforms. G&G makes excellent entry level platforms but their higher end platforms are lacking. BB Bastard folded a few years ago. They were recently bought out by a different set of individuals but they're selling bottom of the barrel BBs that should be avoided. Send me a PM and I can help you get sorted out with your info on guns, parts, upgrades, etc. |

So another question for you all on the state of airsoft in Ontario.
Cards on the table, I’m legitimately concerned about the state of legal firearm ownership in Canada. It might very well come down to me selling my firearms and buying airsoft. Back in the day, the majority of airsoft players were older. Paintball was relegated for the younger generations. Is that still the case now, or if I get back into airsoft, will I be the only person from my age group (30s) playing? |

Appreciate the response!
If I do get back into airsoft I will be wanting to buy a one-stop shop. 3-4 guns out of the gate + mags and upgrades and accessories. Ideally I’d be looking at the following: Umarex/VFC MP7 AEG Umarex/VFC M27 IAR LCT AK-74 And a pistol of some sort. Are TM 1911s still good? I’d love a full metal MEU 1911 Ideally I’d like the M27 to have the ability to not shoot on an empty mag and to have to hit the bolt catch to continue shooting. If you want bolt stop function for aegs you'll have to look into too the TM, Kwa erg, or Scorpion Evo

That’s how far GBBR have come. It’s all about hop up and bb weight. Not like back in the day when it was .2’s and .25’s and not using much hop and m120 springs.

I’m using an EMG Salient Arms 2011, which is an Evike brand but made by AW Customs. It’s a slick gun and there is a Glock SAI as well. It’s still all hit and miss tbh.

You’re not gonna get the kick from a Blowback AEG like you would from a GBBR. It’s a toss up right now for me between my GHK colt cybergun and my Umarex VFC HK416D gbbr. I get more gas blow outs on the VFC but the body is immaculate. Definitely needs mods and shimming where the GHK is money. I replaced my springs though for more recoil.

How are they with temperatures variations? I like playing spring to fall. Are gas guns more consistently accurate now? |

Gas Guns are still the same, they vary depending on your gas in the mag - sure they are more reliable now and more gas efficient (i.e GHK / GHK Gen 2 mags) but you're dropping a lot on a full setup. (Rifle + 6 mags will be near $1,000++ after tax new) (excluding necessity, fps reducer, etc.) If you plan on playing CQB only, you can get away with gas, (all seasons at Siege is acceptable) - if you do outdoors, I'd recommend an AEG. In all honestly, your real steel fixation can't be recouped in airsoft, just saying. Bans are all talk since election is soon. |
