wasn't there a law in japan stating a gun shooting above 300fps is a firearm, and therefore illegal to own?

just wondering can systema guns be upgraded even more? since they already shoot like 400-500fps out of the box right? can you still improve the durability, velocity and consistency?

No but i mean the barrel and receiver are metal, the rear stock is plastic.

And I would hope the real one is made of metal, as least the receiver and barrel.

The barrel on the real one is of course metal. Not sure about the reciever though. The reciever of the G36 isn't metal, I don't think it is on the AUG either.

You got an owner of an AUG telling you its metal, and you still don't think so?

Yeah.. Problem is, I have quite a few as it is, and I'm afraid they may become Wall hangers..

LOL maybe not! Mags/batteries/etc are alot cheaper for other guns.. soo we'll see.

To be honest, unless I get a very good paying civil engineering job and have a hell of a lot of dispensable income, I'll probably not bother to buy PTW.

No it's not - not as far as legalities are concerned. Your barrel and upper receiver are metal, but the component that carries the trigger mechanism (defined as "the lower receiver" in most guns, but combined with the stock in the AUG and P90) is formed from a synthetic polymer - just like the real thing.

Some may call that metal part an "upper receiver", like the P90, but the fact remains, as far as legalities are concerned, the lower receiver is considered as the component which houses a trigger/firing assembly and accepts the magazine. It may not necessarily be the part that carries the bolt. If we're going to be specific, then it is the lower receiver that is not allowed to be metal - just like in Canada, it's specifically the lower receiver that are prohibited from individual civilian importation.

If you get a preassembled Max, you pretty much have the boss gun.
If you get one of the lower end models, you can upgrade to the hardened gears, steel toothed pistons and such found on the Max gun - upgrading to this level also allows you to use the M150 cylinder unit (with the proper battery.)

And as far as velocity goes, one of the main selling points of Systemas is being able to swap cylinder units in and out to adjust velocities very quickly. I can swap from 330fps to 500fps in less than 10 seconds.
