Anyone care to make an educated guess at what the spring rating would be to produce 340fps in a MP5K size AEG?

I'd say it should be something like Guarder SP100, Prometheus MS100sp etc.

MS100-eqivilant sounds much too low for 340fps on a 110mm barrel and 1/2(?) ported cylinder, though. I wouldn't be surprised if it's MS110 or greater.

Vlad I put a Guarder SP100 in my wife's TM MP5K and it only increased the velocity to 300 fps. Right now her gun is firing a true 360 fps but that required a PDI 170% spring in it.
It's not just the spring strength that you have to consider it's also the type, irregular springs are terrible for a short barrel weapon like this because the lighter tension parts of the spring expand first which propel the BB out of the barrel before the rest of the spring can expand. Heh it was a pain of a learning process but the PDI 170% works well (despite what people may say about PDI's QA), regular pitch and the spring is very physically short. |

I have been having problems with the semi auto fire. Keeps jamming the trigger. Going to pull it apart and give her the works. Seems I have a few parts lying around.

Ran into the semi lock up problem for the first time this past weekend. Now that I think about it, I think I remember it happening occasionally to my CA36. Must be a v3 thing.
The little plastic square cap thing on top of the gun came off. Some super glue later, good as new. My only real complaint is that the stock has a little wobble to it due to imperfect match between the plate and the rear of the gun; the stock bolt return spring is also on the weak side and can rattle. Other than that, boy am I smitten with this thing. I originally traded for it so I can sell it and fund a 4.3, but instead I'm finding myself buying a new battery for it and everything.

I'm also finding the battery seriously lacking. Full charge used to last around 1200shots. Last charge died in less than 400.
The trigger jam is a bitch because to use it indoors at ttacc, it's semi only. Been too busy fixing other people's guns to tear it down yet.

Right, I found that a new battery and a new motor is a must. I am acctually going to finish up making a video on jow to mod your Mp5k PDW/ Mp5k to use a 9.6 stick battery. Most say that you have to dremmel stuff out but thats not the case! There is actually a very easy way to mod it...

For the larger battery, you should just shorten the cocking lever.
Thanks for the videos, AH.

In my TM mpk I have the 170% spring. It's just about useless in semi unless you do real slow pulls. I wanna get a new motor, but $100 a bit pricey when I don't use it that much.
Cool video's tho. |

Friend got a JG MP5, very nice gun. Internals are pretty good, exterior is full metal. Paid a lot less than a TM one.
TM better wake up before chinese companies run them down. |
