I only meant that whatever Systema did, it works and what PDI did does not. Not implying anything specific about the manufacturing, just the result.

But now that you mentioned it, I never did compare the fit of the barrel block in cut in the Systema barrel itself.. I should try that just to see. I didn't think the fit was due to the hop-up assembly alone. Interesting.

I spoke with Doff in PM's he's not working on barrels until new year and can make them in various sizes. In a his thread though at systema forums he recommends 6.04 for M4.

Well I responded to PDI's email but have not heard a reply:

"I was waiting to hear if others had the same experience with your new barrel before replying to your email but no one has come forward to relay their findings. Based on your respose however I suspect that all will have the same problem fitting the hop-up assembly to your barrels so...

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately this is not a very good response. You make no mention that modifications will be necessary in order to make the hop-up assembly fit the barrel.
This is ridiculous to expect the consumer to file this little piece down to make your $150 barrel fit at all. It is a difficult piece to work with and filing it can cause it to become misaligned and have the hop-up sit crooked or off to one side. This destroys some of the precision that the consumer is paying for. This, sir, is unacceptable.
To blame Systema's practices and loose tolerances for this misfit is not acceptable either. What is at fault is your choice to undersize the hole to aim for a precise fit. I have worked on 5 or more Systema barrels and all have fit very tightly and did not require undersizing to assure this. Also all their parts are interchangeable so it is not a case of tolerances but of your poor engineering to assume this aluminum block could be press fit into your barrel.
I suspect that many will not be buying this barrel based on this problem.

S.Branson"

I don't think I was off base with my accusations. I will be interested to hear what they have to say, if anything, or if any more experiences surface.

I'd be surprised if you hear back from them at all. I mean, who are you to them? 1 Canadian customer, and our market is so small already.

I hear you mcguyver... I just figured I had to say it. I'm mostly surprised to have not heard anything from anyone else about them. PDI says they're out of stock so maybe the big stores bought them out. There's no talk on Arnie's I can find either.

And yes Ronan, your 6.04 systema barrel will be fine, like I said, I primarily bought it to get a full length inner for my long outer barrel..

I was hoping to be able to get a 6.01mm barrel for my M16. These guys seemed to be the best candidate for it, but I guess I can just buck up and pay Doff to make one.

For the M4 and CQB-R, 6.04mm is just fine. They all come with them as standard offering and have for well over a year now. The older Gen 1 M16 and up to Gen 3 came with 6.10mm in all guns up to 2006. You can see that for a semi-auto only platform with the M150, a 6.10 barrel simply will not do.

[QUOTE=mcguyver;595471] pay Doff to make one "M16 lenght".
QUOTE]

Unfortunatly, it seems there is no other choice at the moment for the M16 lenght...but as you mentionned....stick with systema's inner/outer barrel set with the hopup for the M4 and CQB-R, 6.04mm lenght
