I don't think this was the thread that I had looked at but they mention it in this one. It doesnt really give much info other than saying to heat it and twist. I didnt have to heat the ring up for long and then it came off relatively easy. I used a dental tool to remova all the dried glue and clean up the threads. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

So you used a blow torch and heated it up and it came off? I will grab a vise grip tomorrow. Do you think the stove top can heat up that thing? I dont have a blow torch...

Yeah I tried that , lol. I found that the heat wasnt as concentrated as I would like. It was heating up the whole barrel vs the flash hider. I didnt have a blowtorch so I picked up the cheapest one I could find.

Buy a little torch lighter at your local convenience store. It will do the trick if you need precision heat direction.

If your stove is gas you could, a torch lighter would be the cheapest alternative.. or you could BBQ it.

EDIT: AH nuts to you mcguyver ya beat me to it.

Wish I would have thought of that, lol. But the good news is that the blowtouch is being put to use with some basement reno's.

Reno's with a torch? I hope you're talking about soldering copper, and not "creative" demolition!!

Yeah I was really disappointed about that too. Really wanted it to come with a the steel flash hider. But since this was coming from the states it has to be orange.

Had the EXACT same problem. Took the brass ring off with a tool that digs in the metal and then you twist the brass ring off. Was a pain in the ass. Same with the barrel nut.
