It would appear AEPs are less well recieved than I previously thought XD. They're not EBBs -.- full auto and everything... Cheap hicap mags, batteries last a while... It won't make the sound of a wet fart in the winter, and will make consistent FPS, accuracy, and consistent RPM.

lol excel? I think you mean, "barely get by without getting owned by real guns"
What I had meant was that they had been designed with games on the top of the list.

Silly people, 200 FPS would be fine for indoors depending on the location.
I know a 200FPSish gun would function fine in CamoGames indoor CQB school set up.

I know Amos had a hilarious 200FPS AK that worked magically.

A stock MP7 puts out around 250ish and its a decent little AEP.

Im outdoor situations a gun like that may not fair so well once factors like wind and foligage come into play.

That AK didn't actually shoot BB's... people just called hit when they saw it

what location? a small room ?

200fps on an ak is a totally different story than an aep, there's really no comparison there.

Very large, very open abandoned hospital...

but to be honest... I went through like 3 bags of BB's that game... People tend not to feel 200 FPS... so you gotta shoot 'em 37 times.

A while back I bought a TM Desert Eagle AEP.

It's range, blowback, and otherwise poor functionality is identical to that of my clear walmart Crosman AEP.

.20s will fall sharply after roughly 5 meters. I found the .12s I've used in my Crosman P22 work great. Of course it doesn't go very straight--and I'm fairly sure you wouldn't feel the plink through a vest.

Save your money, don't buy an AEP--They suck. My Desert Eagle's hop-up is not adjustable. .20 go straight down, .12s are anti-aircraft rounds.

I suppose that depends on what your definition of a small room is, I was achieving excellent accuracy at 20-30 feet, using .20g BBs in an MP7 that was shooting at 220FPS, and the BBs were still travelling fast enough for people to feel the hits.

You may have to be a little more descriptive with your statement in regards to how an AK shooting 200fps .20g is different from an AEP shooting 200FPS.20g. Aside from physical external and physical internal desgin difference, if both items are outing BBs at 0.37 joules of energy. The only thing that I can think of that would cause any difference would be internal barrel length, but at minimal engagement (20-30 FT)distances it hardly makes a difference to me.

Dont get me wrong, Im definately not saying AEPs function better than AEGs, but AEPs are definately not something to be underestimated entirely.

The closest to a TM AEP, that I can get is a CYMA Glock 18C.
Which has a better better than the TM one.

Black guns are getting harder and harder to find.

Although, AEPs are CQB. They arent really for outdoor games. No range. :P

Nope, CYMA never make gun better than TM. If so, TM will close their company long time ago.

Black gun is not hard to find, I saw ton of them on Classified. It would harder for you to find since you are not age verified.

I've seen people do very well with stock AEP on an indoor field full of AEGs, and I've done fairly well with them myself.

The time-on-target is long, but most AEPs have a very flat trajectory and small grouping. Their tiny size makes them very manoeuvrable.

In a CQB setting (target distance <100 feet), in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, an AEP is a great little weapon. While they do have the range to be an outdoor weapon (excellent hopups), their low energy/velocity makes them far less effective when wind is a factor.

AEP w/ 200fps and short barrel = shit
AEG AK47 with 200fps and long barrel = decent

bottom line is, AEP are crap and are of limited use, imo, I don't care how many people come out of the woodwork to defend their shitty MP7's

Pusangani I must ask that you remove your head from your rectum and perhaps listen to others. You sound horribly uneducated on the matter. First of all just because the barrel in an aep is short does not make it less useful. The hopup in an aep is far better then the majority of guns out there and allows for great consistency. Sure the gun has meager power but it would likely fair better then a ak firing 200 fps due to its hopup and size allowing awesome maneuverability.
I have been playing airsoft likely for half of your life. I have tried every type of airsoft gun in that time ranging from pre classic 7mm finned guns, classic guns, the first marui on the market, to all the random shit they have today. Aeps have there place and despite only using classics I tend to pick them up from time to time.

So the long and short is please don't spout off like you know everything when in fact you have very little experience in the matter.

that was stated as an opinion, we're still entitled to have those aren't we? I couldn't give 2 shits how long you've been playing airsoft for, do you want a cookie?

I play cqb fairly regularly (sadly not as long as you have) and I have found AEP's to be very useless where I play, Im not just spouting out random statements based on zero experience

my whole dislike for AEP's came up because someone said that they EXCEL in games, which is nowhere near to being true, basically EVERY OTHER kind of airsoft gun beats an AEP in cqb and outdoor, well all except EBB's and most shitty clearsoft of course, but that's obvious
