I cant stress this enough... You don't need a higher velocity
Increasing your velocity WILL NOT: Give you more range, Give you more accuracy or make you a better, more effecitve player. What will? read what i already suggested earlier... Quote:

Also I find more pain makes the game all that more fun.
PS could somebody answer my questions instead of questioning my motives: 1)Are the parts compatible with my gun 2)How would I rewire to the rear of the gun with the gearbox-http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=3602 |

Well in terms of upgrades and stuff your right. But paintballs and co2 add up fast. It costs like $40 for 200 paintballs at a paintball field. I like that you can power your airsoft gun for pennies per battery charge, and the considerably cheaper ammo.

I don't know where you play, but no one i know wants to play againts guns that hurt more then necessary. A buddy of mine had a BB embeded in his ear-lobe from a gun that was upgraded more then it needed to be
But yes.. they are compatible, but as i already said, JG Box's arent great, and are prone to lemons, if you really must have more FPS just put a stiffer spring and a sorbo pad in your gun Quote:

or a you can buy a crosman springer in your local walmart. trust me being hit by a guy with a springer is worts than being hit bya a 600 fps bb.
just kiding acuracy is your friend, upgrading the velocity of your gun doest make to much diference. spend your money becoming a better player, playing more and practice nose and lip shot if you want to to hurt more lol

well i'm not looking to damage/hirt people, and I know for sure that 400fps does not do more than leave a welt. I also like playing against people who have 400fps. I geuss your right about the jg gearbox, I geuss i'll save up for a systema. Also I haven't been to a field yet, I'm just getting into airsoft and I usually play in my backyard or backyards of friends-.

Systema mechbox's are over-rated.
If you really want 400 FPS, just install an M110 spring and a sorbo pad in your gun, thats about 20 bucks of parts. Also, make sure your gun is well greased and shimmed

All you really need to upgrade your gun is a bigger/stiffer spring. However, this can and will put additional strain on your gears. Upgrading your spring will increase the rate at which your gun degrades.

Upgrades using PDI springs
I recently did a rebuild of my G&G GR16 A3 full stock and when I did so I added a PDI 150% spring. It shoots around 423FPS with .2gram and 383FPS with a .25G. I know some people were talking of ordering from local shops, which for some stuff I agree is alright, but if you are ordering light and small items, order from China or Japan. I ordered spring, shims and 3 hop up buckings from Ehobbyasia.com and the shipping was 8.00USD and I never got hit with customs. Other advantage springs cost only 5-9.00USD same with other items, so you can avoid the Canadian markup.
I am going to order in the near future a PDI 140% spring to try to lower the FPS to 400 with a .2gram. Also one further note the Version 2 gear box was well built, properly shimmed and has bearings, ball bearing spring guide, ball bearing piston head, metal gears and box so if you are going to upgrade the G&G don't bother with anything but the spring and decent lubricant, granted though hop-up enhancements are a good idea, I installed 70 degree hard Guarder hop-up bucking since the velocity is getting kind of high. |
