Hi Conker.
I'm using my real Peltor Comtac II headsets (MT15H69FB-47 single comm) with a Peltor PTT dual (FL 5701) and my United Star AN PRC 148 with european PMR frequencies and without any problems of impedance. The sound is just perfect and there isn't any problem with transmission. I tried a real Selex Tasc headset yesterday and the result was just the same. Clear sound.

Guys, I need some help. I'm using the OTTO/Thales handmike and it receives and transmits. However the internal speaker doesn't shut off. How can I fix that?

I'm using my new peltor comtac III (88080) headset and (fl5601-02) with my United Star PRC-148 with out any impedance issues either. It's just working perfectly. Funny thing is that it didn't work before when I was using the element comtac ii and the replica peltor ptt from Px-Airsoft so I think it's a little more than just modding the mic, I believe it's a combination of both mic and ptt. Also I think the new peltor ptt's are redesigned internally because for an example, the older single comm ptt model (fl5040-02) has been discontinued and replaced with the (fl5601-02).

Hi, folks!
Could you please to help me solve an issue, I've faced with:
Some times (very often but not always) after recieving of transmition cracking occurs in the headphones, which is ended by pressing on PTT.

background:
US PRC148 radio, running in 400-470 range (it's Gen2 according CCI sticker, purchased from ebairsoft)
RS Peltor Comtac II
china-made peltor-style PTT with kenwood plug, planned to be replaced with MSA Nexus PTT

You can use z tactical headset out of the box w/o any modifications.
My friendly advice: You have to read entire thread - there is a lot of helpful info.

You need to use an old windows xp computer with a real serial port (not emulated through USB) with the original programming cable and it will fire right up. Hope this helps.
