As the one and only member of FMS thanks for listing me as a team.

All of this is starting to remind me of that whole Speedsoft fiasco. I really hope this doesn't escelate to that.

From what I know the people looking to start a league are either former paintballers and/or people that have never played airsoft with the established airsofters in Saskatchewan.
From what I have seen I don't see the airsofters in Saskatchewan going down this path with the exception of a few fringe groups (mentioned in first paragraph).

Sask League
This is my 3rd season playing airsoft in Saskatchewan, and I really enjoy the company of the people I play with/against. For me skirmishes are probably the most fun, as they are 100% friendly and you can rework teams throughout the day to make it the most challenging and even games possible. Plus the fast pace of the games means no trying to hold a field for 8 hours. I also enjoy millsims since they allow me to improve my game and play style in a more tactical role and problem solve under pressure to overcome obstacles. I do like the 5 vs. 5 skirmish days, but only because we switch teams and I can mingle and work together with so many players that otherwise would only be in front of my sites.
As for a set league where it is my 5 vs. other set teams of I’ll pass. Would be way too easy to have grudges and friction in the community.

hey guys I just wanted to comment on a couple of the posts. I would never play a speedsoft. I dont like paintball. As for a league I like that type of game play, maybe it's a little of the c.o.d. coming out of me lol I dont know. I do have a fairly large group of guys that are into the idea and right now we are not talking about a full season of ranked matches, we are talking about a saturday here or there with little tourny's for fun and maybe some prizes for top team. doesn't have to be 5vs5 it would depend on how many guys come out. that doesnt even mean you'd be on the same team every weekend. With saying that I also want to get into the sims as well. cause Im not a one sided player i love all aspects of the sport. As the season goes on I look forward in putting faces to all of you and have some fun, I plan on sticking with this sport for a long time, and being involved with all aspected that can related to it. I got hooked lol. Thanks for the comments boys I look forward to meeting you this season.

Ahhh, that does sound a bit different than my initial impression. Sounds more competitive for the fun of it, not to beat the other guys. |

There is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition I suppose.
Last man standing wins a beer! First knife kill wins a beer from his victim! If you get shot with a BB at any point in time you win a beer! I need a beer right now.

only if there are decent competitions
I propose the following events: Mexican Standoff Pistol Match PAIN!!! Knives n sticks (bb must be clearly visible and glued to tip of weapon to count as a kill) Shoot the plate off Arnisador again I only kid about the last two games, but the first two are actually quite fun. We've done them several times here. |

Sounds alot more fun then the speedsoft thing.
couple friendly scrims, teams get points for each game, total points win at the end of the day. (case of beer? BB's? gloating rights?) |

Couldn't you just host this as a game on the PDW website? They have the playerbase, and as you said you already have players supporting your idea, just you'd want more. Run it as a game, keep leader boards on your game thread.
People are hating down on this, but as been said, Airsoft is what you make of it. Saying you're going to downgrade into knuckle dragging and what not because of a little competition is silly. There is generally a winner in Milsim games. However bringing prizes in for winners is probably not that good of an idea, as it'll breed cheating. On top of that, he is only letting people know what he wants to accomplish. He's not out to try to change the trend or the way PDW plays.

I should note, that my post is coming from someone who has seen a split in his airsoft community! I also perhaps shouldn't comment on crap I'm really not a part of. So... disregard me! Whoops.

i agree with boots that a division is never good, that being said, if he is turning this into a business, i think having your own forum is good, as long as you keep the guys on the other forums aware of events! good luck with your new endeavors. i know when i move out to Saskatoon in 1-2 years ill be looking up games of both types

There is nothing really being split here.. These are all new players wanting to do their own thing (which is awesome). They are more than welcome to come out to the games that are being hosted by the existing members of the community and they have extended that same courtesy to us.
No drama, no fuss.. Cheers, Cory |

There's also the New Police Story version, where you start with two disassembled Glocks and the first person to reassemble and loads his Glock and shoot the other guy doesn't get shot.
It's all fun and game until there are serious prizes/monetary rewards involved, then it's paintball.
