To be honest, in the support role with a 'proper' support weapon or LMG, a 300 round high cap mag is extremely slow. It's much faster to dump 2 x 150 rounds or 3 x 100 round mid caps, even with the 1 to 2 mag changes than it would be to shoot and wind a tickler!

Why waste time mag tickling when in a support role? Your job is to put rounds down range so that your team can advance.

Yes; and your going for a higher rate of fire, with a lighter round. Speed over accuracy, and that much full auto is hard on a gun. A support role can't properly be done without a support weapon. I think a box of King Arms magazines is about $50-$60 for five.

Not a fan of hi caps at all. If you want everyone to know where you are and look like a tool go ahead, knock yourself out. The only proper place for high caps should be used are on LMG's.

If it's the Cat that fucked up my garden then yes I do. But yeah Ive never been a fan of high caps (unless its for an LMG) its a pain in the ass when you have a half empty highcap rattling about when your running. Makes you look like a fucking tard.

I carry 5 GBBR mags on vest and 1 in gun, 30 rounds a pop.
Would carry more but they're expensive but most of all, very heavy. Buckles on my vest actually broke from weight of mags and my hydration back. Now have buckles that can support 700lbs each. =D

How heavy is 1 fully loaded M4 mag anyways? Would it realistic to carry 10+?

About 1.3lbs each in reality. Not sure what an airsoft mag would weigh, but 10-13lbs is a small price to pay for staying power in a gunfight.

We carry 8-10 Systema magazines, and they are heavy as far as M4/M16 magazines go. Over all, not that bad though. If your having gear issues and can't afford Crye, Eagle, etc; try Condor instead of buying replica.

When I had my KJW, I would carry 8 mags of 30 rounds each. It was quite heavy. Now I run 10 Pmag midcaps with 30 rounds in each for my Masada.

Yeah...having lots of ammo is nice but with all the other stuff, having that many, do you guys actually do that? Wouldn't it cause too much fatigue? I know you guys are fit but there are still limits.

Must have been very cheap buckles.

There is also the option of doing what's done for the stg-44's and gutting the mag, replacing the internals. In the case of the stg, you gut the mag, keeping the housing and replace the internals with those of an MP7, filling the rest of the mag as needed.

Rig, gun, ammo, water, food, radio, rain gear, magazines, pistol, etc = 50 plus pounds. 24 hour milsim, 1.5 hrs sleep (during). Everything you'll need to be near self sufficient for 24 hours (gotta refill water and food a couple times). You'll want to buy specific and specialty equipment to make yourself as slim and fast as possible; as well as proper weight distribution. A proper rig, blast belt, and drop leg platforms is a good place to start.

Extra BDUs, footwear, socks and underwear, a rain and a warm layer is an absolute. That can recharge you in the middle of a sim, just by putting on dry and clean gear. Pre-plan for proper, lightweight, high in energy meals as well as a constant water source. Footwear should be light weight and high quality.

Plus there are the guys who carry all their C7 ammo, plus 40mm grenades(M203), as well depending on the size of the patrol/what weapons are brought out you could be carrying extra ammo for the C6, etc
There are a bunch of us that have run 10+1 WE GBBR mags, rifle, sidearm plus min 3 mags, plus 6-12 40mm's plus 3L water bladder and other supplies for a 24hr sim. Supplies include a 20oz CO2 tank and a propane tank. (of course we dropped the CO2 and propane off at our FOB be it had to get there and be moved when our FOB moved)
